TO DISCUSS IMPORTANCE OF E-COMMERCE APPLICATION
Theory
E-Commerce or Electronic Commerce means buying and selling of goods, products, or
services over the internet. E-Commerce is also known as electronic commerce or internet
commerce. These services provided online over the internet network. Transaction of money,
funds, and data are also considered as E-commerce. These business transactions can be done
in four ways: Business to Business (B2B), Business to Customer (B2C), Customer to
Customer (C2C), Customer to Business (C2B). The definition of E-Commerce is a
commercial transaction which is happened over the internet. Online stores like Amazon,
Flipkart, etc. are examples of E-Commerce website.
Advantage of E-Commerce:
1. E-Commerce provides the seller with a global reach. They remove the barrier of
place(geography). Now sellers and buyers can meet in the virtual world, without the
hindrance of location.
2. Electronic commerce will substantially lower the transaction cost. It eliminates many
fixed costs of maintaining brick and mortar shops. This allows the companies to enjoy
a much higher margin of profits.
3. It provides quick delivery of goods with very little effort on part of the customer.
Customer complaints are address quickly. It also saves time, energy and effort for
both the customers and the company.
4. One other great advantage is the convenience it offers. A customer can shop 24*7.
The website is functional at all times, it does not have working hours like a shop.
5. Electronic commerce also allows the customer and the business to be in touch
directly, without any intermediaries. This allows for quick communication and
transaction. It also gives a valuable personal touch.
Disadvantage of E-commerce:
1. The start-up costs of the e-commerce portal are very high. The setup of the hardware
and the software, the training cost of employees, the constant maintenance and upkeep
are all quite expensive.
2. Although it may seem like a sure thing, the e-commerce industry has a high risk of
failure. Many companies riding the dot-com wave of the 2000s have failed miserably.
The high risk of failure remains even today.
3. Security is another area of concern. Only recently, we have witnessed many security
breaches where the information of the customer was stolen. Credit card theft, identity
theft etc, remain big concern with customer.
4. There are also the fulfilment problems. Even after the order is placed there can be
problems with shipping, delivery, mix-ups etc. this leaves the customers unhappy and
dissatisfied.
Feature of E-commerce:
1. Shopping Cart
This is an integral part of any eCommerce store, the shopping cart. This is where your
end consumers store their products to continue with the checkout process. A flexible
cart allows both the guest user and registered user to checkout. In comparison, the
guest checkout does not require the user to sign up on the site, hence making the
process faster.

2. Payment Gateway Integration

A good eCommerce website gives you the option of integrating with diverse payment
gateways by not limiting your choices to a selected few. It is an integral feature of
eCommerce websites that can make or break the customer experience. Ship rocket
360 comes with pre-approved payment gateways that you can easily integrate with
your online store.

3. Order Management
A wholesome order management panel simplifies the merchants’ task to get the deed
information regarding buyer cancellation, refunds, COD order verification, exchange
order status update, and more. The panel helps the merchant manage his order
fulfilment and oversee the completion of the same.

4. Security
This feature is one of the most important features as it ensures that no crucial data
such as credit card information is saved and for all prepaid shipments the checkout is
carried out through a secure payment gateway. The passwords are hashed and not
stored in a readable format. All web pages should be protected by SSL. The servers
are secure and protected using state of the art services.

5. Scalable Infrastructure
Your hosting infrastructure should be able to scale as you get more and more traffic.
A higher latency leads to drops in transaction rates and leads to loss of marketing
dollars. CDN should be used to improve the website’s performance and to manage the
products online. It also provides excellent uptime, ensuring that the website is readily
available everywhere and at any time.

6. Report and Analysis

The reports should be available as exports which contain detailed information
regarding the orders, customer database, and product reports in terms of catalogue. It
is quite useful for analysing the growth of the business. The websites should be pre-
integrated with marketing tools and analytics to better market the brand and read
reports about the performance of the store.

7. Communication and regular updates

Provisions to send and receive timely notifications regarding your orders are available
on the panel. This way a merchant can keep his customers informed about the status
of the order and receive the same via the system.
8. Content Management System
Content Management System is used to manage the website content such as, Logo,
banner, Footer links, Policies, and Products from the back end itself.

Purpose to use the E-commerce:

We should use the E-commerce because with the ever-increasing use of the internet and its
popularity among all demographic segments, electronic commerce is by all means the way to
go for virtually all businesses. Creating an online presence means that a business owner or
company can reach to potential customers and expand business operations, gaining a
significant authority in the marketplace. It is almost impossible for a company to compete in
today’s very competitive business world if it lacks a strong online presence, which is the
essence of e-commerce. A wide range of small and large companies have leveraged
ecommerce to bolster sales by listing their services and products online, where consumers can
check them and make enquires, as well as place orders at the click of a computer button.
E-commerce has gone a long way in empowering consumers through the internet. Through
their websites and online advertisements, businesses can communicate with their clients,
provide information on new products and complete sales. Consumer forums and features
which allow consumers to give feedback and comments regarding products and services have
conferred on the customer more say, so that with ecommerce, customers are able to
contribute to the making of the right product for them and having a say on how services are
delivered. This is not only good for the customer, but also for the producers as they are able
to make goods and design services that suit their customers, avoiding wastages and enhancing
customer satisfaction. Ecommerce also saves time for both businesses and consumers and
enhances the customer’s convenience.

Application of E-Commerce
1. Online Marketing and Purchasing
Data collection about customer behaviour, preferences, needs and buying patterns is
possible through Web and E-commerce. This helps marketing activities such as price
fixation, negotiation, product feature enhancement and relationship with the customer.

2. Finance
Financial companies are using E-commerce to a large extent. Customers can check
the balances of their savings and loan accounts, transfer money to their other account
and pay their bill through on-line banking or E-banking. Another application of E-
commerce is on-line stock trading. Many Websites provide access to news, charts,
information about company profile and analyst rating on the stocks.

3. Manufacturing
E-commerce is also used in the supply chain operations of a company. Some
companies form an electronic exchange by providing together buy and sell goods,
trade market information and run back-office information such as inventory control.
These speeds up the flow of raw material and finished goods among the members of
the business community. Various issues related to the strategic and competitive issues
limit the implementation of the business models. Companies may not trust their
competitors and may fear that they will lose trade secrets if they participate in mass
electronic exchanges.

4. Online Auction
Customer-to-Customer E-commerce is direct selling of goods and services among
customers. It also includes electronic auctions that involve bidding. Bidding is a
special type of auction that allows prospective buyers to bid for an item. For
example, airline companies give the customer an opportunity to quote the price for a
seat on a specific route on the specified date and time.

5. Online Publication
Electronic publishing (also referred to as e-publishing or digital publishing) includes
the digital publication of e-books, digital magazines, and the development of digital
libraries and catalogues.

6. Online booking
An Internet booking engine (IBE) is an application which helps the travel and tourism
industry support reservation through the Internet. It helps consumers to book flights,
hotels, holiday packages, insurance and other services online. This is a much-needed
application for the aviation industry as it has become one of the fastest growing sales
channels.

Conclusion
Here I have learned the dept meaning of the E-commerce and what it is all about and how it
makes easy to the users and help the customer. The E-commerce will be an immersive
platform for both customer and the business where the profit will be from the both sides.
LAB NO. 2
TO STUDY FEASIBILITY OF DEVELOPING E-BUSINESS
APPLICATIONS
Theory
E-Business is also known as the Electronic Business where it refers to the use of the Web,
internet, intranets, extranets or some combination thereof to conduct business. E-Business is
similar to e-commerce, but it goes beyond the simple buying and selling of products and
services online. E-business includes a much wider range of businesses processes, such as
supply chain management, electronic order processing and customer relationship
management. E-business processes, therefore, can help companies to operate more effectively
and efficiently.
Importance of E-Business:
1. The development of time and technology introduce a lot many of improving your
business.
2. One of them which highly got popular among sales and transaction in E-commerce.
3. Making the exact replica of the normal website use for sending and looking for any
kind of information.
4. E-commerce website allowed users to start shopping just like purchasing form a
physical market.
5. E-commerce website helped consumers choose and buy any product they want
without moving from their place.
6. As of today, it is the most required step for customers. Not only for selling and
purchasing but the company website today represents the complete business of one’s
company. It not only adds values to the products and services of your company but
also enhances its true worth.
7. Technology has also greatly enhanced the world of accounting, which in turn, has
revolutionized the ways companies can do business.

Feasibility Study:
A Feasibility study is an analysis that considers all of a project’s relevant factors-including
economic, technical, legal and scheduling considerations-to ascertain like likelihood
completing the project successfully. However, a feasibility study isn’t only for projects
looking to measure and forecast financial gains. In other words, feasible can means
something different, depending on the industry and the project’s goal. For example, a
feasibility study could help determine weather a hospital can generate enough donation and
investment dollars to expand and build a new cancer centre.
Importance of Feasibility study:
The importance of a feasibility study is based on organization desire to “get it right” before
committing resource, time, or budget. A feasibility study might uncover new ideas that could
completely change a project’s scope. It’s best to make these determinations in advance, rather
than to jump in and to learn the projects won’t work. Conducting a feasibility study is always
beneficial to the project as it gives you and other stakeholders a clear picture of the proposed
project.
Below are some key benefits of conducting a feasibility study:
1. Improves project team focus
2. Identifies new opportunities
3. Provides valuable information for a go/no-go decision
4. Narrows the business alternatives
5. Identifies a valid reason to undertake the project
6. Enhance the success rate by evaluating multiple parameters
7. Aids decision-making on the project
8. Identifies reason not to proceed

Project made for the development:

I have made an Online Dress Management system where the user can buy dresses of different
brands in a reasonable price and high quality. My online management system helps to also
includes the E-Banking where the user can directly play the product bill from the bank
through the internet. It is most import for reaching for the customers which is interested in the
fashion for the dresses in which it leads to the age group between 15 to 60 years old people.

Feature of the project:

1. User-Friendly
2. High-Resolution photos and videos
3. Special offers
4. Security Features
5. Advance payment options
6. Detailed shipping Information

Study of feasibility measures:

1. Technically:
Technical feasibility evaluates the technical complexity of the expert system and often
involves determining whether the expert system can be implemented with state-of-
the-art techniques and tools. In the case of expert systems, an important aspect of
technical feasibility is determining the shell in which the system will be developed.

2. Economically:
Economic analysis could also be referred to as cost/benefit analysis. It is the most
frequently used method for evaluating the effectiveness of a new system. In economic
analysis the procedure is to determine the benefits and savings that are expected from
a candidate system and compare them with costs.

3. Operationally:
Operational feasibility is a measure of how well a proposed system solves the
problems, and takes advantage of the opportunities identified during scope definition
and how it satisfies the requirements identified in the requirements analysis phase of
system development. Operational feasibility reviews the willingness of the
organization to support the proposed system.

Conclusion
Here I have learned the meaning of the feasibility study where it shows how important is the
feasibility study for the projects. In which the feasibility study helps the project manager to
determine the viability of a project or business venture by identifying the factors that can lead
to its success. The study also shows the potential return on investment and any risk to the
success of the venture.
A feasibility study contains a detailed analysis of what’s needed to complete the proposed
project. The report may include a description of the new product or venture, a market
analysis, the technology and labour needed, as well as the source of financing and capital.
LAB NO. 3
TO STUDY VARIOUS LITERARY WORKS DONE OVER VERIOUS E-
BUSINESS APPLICATION
Theory
How the project is planned:
The project is planned for doing following works listed below:
1. To know the importance of E-Commerce in today’s environment.
2. To highlight the online services, provide by the shoesshop.com.
3. To explore out the online security mechanism.
4. To find out the payment mechanism.
5. To understand technical working of e-commerce.
6. To know about the information and workflow management of e-commerce.
Working mechanism:
You may open your internet browser (eg: Chrome, Mozilla, Safari etc.) a type our website
name www.BeeFree.com you will reach the dress shop e-commerce website where you can
browse through hundreds of dress product and order/buy online.
To process something, one must have an account in dressshop.com. One simply need to
register by providing some basic information (name, address, birthday, phone number, etc.)
Once buyer likes something then he/she can place the order just by clicking add to cart. After
that the number above the cart will be increased and form there the buyer will know that the
item is added to the cart. And, after adding to the cart if the buyer wants to buy the item, then
by clicking at the cart the buyer can see the all details like price and the delivery cost and the
button for the buying process. So, if the buyers want to buy then they can simply push the
buy button and if not, then there will be a remove option where the buyer can remove the
item from the cart. After they have pressed then the buyer will be taken to the payment
gateway where the user can put their e-bank no so the payment method will be completed. So
this is the working mechanism of my website.
Existing e-commerce website:
1. Daraz.com:
Formerly Daraz is the fastest growing online marketplace operating in South Asian
countries Pakistan, Bangladesh, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, and Nepal. A wide variety of
products are available in Daraz. The products include consumer electronics, fashion,
and beauty products, alongside rapidly growing general products. Recently they have
updated their app to include more features. Daraz’s delivery is also reliable and the
return policy is one of the best here in Nepal. It ships products to most of the cities of
Nepal. There’s almost everything listed on the site that is needed in daily life.
2. Hamrobazar.com:
Hamrobazaar.com is an online classified which enables individuals as well as
companies to list a wide variety of new or used products online. It is one of the most
used shopping sites in Nepal as it provides the platform for the individual to sell their
own products. Hamrobazar.com is a great channel for connecting buyers and sellers.
Hamrobazar.com is a perfect solution which helps to list your products for free. They
also feature new products but the site isn’t that popular for buying new products. It is
also one of the most visited e-commerce sites in Nepal. When it comes to buying used
or second-hand items, Hamrobazaar comes at the top.
3. Sastodeal.com:
Sasto Deal is also one of Nepal’s biggest online shopping websites in Nepal.
Sastodeal has done some updates on its website and also launched mobile apps to
provide a better shopping experience to people. They guarantee the returns and
exchange of the products within the specified period of time (like 7 days for any
reason and 3 days for defective items).
Sastodeal also delivers products to major cities of the country and offers cash on
delivery for the payment. Some delivery charges are incurred while the products are
delivered to your location. They also offer payments from Visa Card or mobile
wallets like eSewa, IME pay, and Khalti. As there are still people who prefer Cash on
delivery, they have this option as well.
4. Muncha.com:
Muncha.com.np is the online version of the departmental store “Muncha House”.
They have a very early history. Muncha started its service in 2000. Muncha.com.np is
a digital shopping mall and gift site where you can find a wide variety of products to
meet your needs. Their main aim is to provide unlimited varieties of products with the
best quality services. They accept iPay, MasterCard, and VISA as a payment option.
Cash on Delivery is available in Muncha. They deliver products within 2-3 working
days.
Conclusion
Here I have discussed about the working mechanism of the project in which it discusses
about how to use the system and how the whole shopping process works and the payment get
way to. And, it also shows the existing e-commerce website in Nepal which is very popular
among the users/buyers where it discusses about their respective functions.
Here I have learned the different e-commerce website existing in Nepal market where the e-
commerce website makes the connection between the buyers and the seller. And makes them
to buy and also to sell the product in secured manner giving them both a friendly environment
for the communication.
LAB NO. 4
TO DISCUSS ANALYTICAL ASPECT OF DEVELOPING E-BUSINESS
APPLICATIONS
Theory
Functional Requirement:
These are the requirements that the end user specifically demands as basic facilities that the
system should offer. All these functionalities need to be necessarily incorporated into the
system as a part of the contract. These are requirements or stated in the form of input to be
given to the system, the operation performance and the output excepted. They are basically
the requirements stated by the user which one can see directly in the final product.
The functional requirements included in my project is that it is capable to add all the charge
in the cart in which it helps the user to see how much the all-total cost of the item which the
user wants to buy and also if the user don’t want to get then the user can remove the item
from the cart so it will be easy for the user. It also maintains all the product details that user
want from the product and the user will get the information where the dresses if form and
what is its speciality if it has one. It shows the all-available product in the available displayed
item for the users in website.
Non-Functional Requirement:
These are basically the quality constraints that the system must satisfy according to the
project contract. The priority or extent to which these factors are implemented varies from
one project to other. They are also called non-behavioural requirements. It is not mandatory.
Helps to verify the performance of the software. It defines the quality attributes of a software
system. Some of the non-functional requirement which includes in my project is listed below:
I. Portability
II. Security
III. Maintainability
IV. Reliability
V. Performance
VI. Scalability
VII. Usability
What system is all about:
The system is all focused to the people youth people who are interested in the dresess and
their brands. In which my project helps to find the different brands of the dresses in the online
market in a reasonable price where it is easy for the customer to buy the dresses product they
want to buy. My project has a user-friendly graphical user interface where ever people who
are little bit of computer literate can use it without any difficulties.

Conclusion
The idea of doing business over network is nothing new: we think nothing of ordering the
products we’ve seen advertised on television or in printed catalogue or with a phone call or a
fax, and ATMs are always within a reach for quick, easy, and automatic banking.
Corporations advertise through broadcasting and networks, and consumers’ flock to local
outlets of nation and international franchise networks. As the world becomes increasingly
interconnection, particularly through the internet with its open protocols, foreword looking
business will be able to make their own private networks for selling, delivering and
supporting customers.
While the technologies for attracting consumers attentions, describing products, and
delivering them electronically will be of interest to those who to participate in these new
markets, this project simply explains how business transaction can be execute across an
unreliable and unsecured medium like the internet, and discussed some of the methods
currently being planned and implemented-in other words, how you will be buying and selling
in the future, and how it will work.
Hence, this site is Business to consumer e-commerce site and helping the buyers and sellers
to connect and communicate to perform commercial activities, it should focus on the
limitation and provide better services to the users.
