Kasturba Medical College Manipal provides certain facilities inside the campus including burns centre, neonatal ICU,
genetics clinic, reproduction centre, artificial limb centre, dialysis unit, radiology services, blood bank, microbiology,
biochemistry, virology and pathology lab, haemophilia clinic, diabetes, thyroid, HIV clinics, casualty and trauma
services, intensive care unit, neonatal intensive care unit, computerised dialysis centre, multi-departmental dental
clinics, physiotherapy and occupational therapy, alternative medical system, pain clinic, cardiology lab, simulation lab,
anatomy museum, library, sports, hostel, manipal poison information centre etc. Detailed description on all the
facilities provided to the students and faculty members of the Institute are listed below.

• Burns Centre- Burns Centre of Kasturba Medical College Manipal treats all burn related cases that are brought
to the hospital through surgeries and different treatment methods.
• Neonatal ICU- Neonatal ICU is an unit which takes care of the premature babies by taking intensive care of them
keeping them in specialised conditions.
• Genetics Clinic- The genetics clinic of KMC Manipal provides services to patients regarding any genetic disorders
of an individual and anyone from the family by providing them with counselling and medications.
• Reproduction Centre
• Artificial Limb Centre- This centre provides patients with artificial limbs through amputation who have lost the
hope of walking again. The artificial limbs that are amputated are strong, heavy and in-flexible.
• Dialysis unit- The Dialysis unit of Kasturba Medical College Manipal has been formed to treat kidney disorders
through treatment.
• Radiology Services- Radiology services like X-ray, ultrasound, computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance
imaging (MRI) are also provided inside the college.
• Blood Bank- Blood Bank is a centre where blood is stored donated by blood donors and later used for blood
transfusion needed by patients. 
• Microbiology, Biochemistry, Virology and Pathology labs- These labs are developed to conduct tests and
practicals related to microbiology, biochemistry, virology and pathology.
• Haemophilia Clinic- This clinic treats patients suffering from haemophilia.
• Diabetes, Thyroid, HIV Clinics- These clinics have been formed by Kasturba Medical College Manipal to treat
patients having diabetes, thyroid, HIV through medications from trained doctors having different specialisations.
• Casualty and Trauma Services- These are the special services offered to patients to help them come out of
trauma after an accident.
• Intensive Care Unit- It is a special department of Kasturba Medical College Manipal inside the hospital through
medications and treatment.
• Neonatal Intensive Care Unit- The Neonatal Unit takes intensive care of the newborn babies taking extra care of
the infants.
• Computerised Dialysis Centre- Dialysis Centre of Kasturba Medical College Manipal treats patients having
kidney failures through artificial replacement of kidneys.
• Multi-departmental dental clinics- The dental clinics treat all patients having dental problems with medications
and treatments like root canal, scaling and root planing, pulpotomy, dental implants etc.
• Physiotherapy and Occupational therapy- Physiotherapy unit of KMC Manipal has been developed to cure
illness with manual therapy by physical exercises and movement.
• Alternative medication system- There is an alternative medication system developed like Ayurveda and yoga in
order to replace the use of medicines.
• Pain clinic- The pain clinic of KMC Manipal has been developed for the treatment of cancer patients and to
provide them relief for their pain.
• Cardiology Lab- The Cardiology Lab of Kasturba Medical College Manipal is well equipped with the latest
technologies for Echo, Stress Test, Holter, CT scan along with an ambulance 24x7.
• Simulation Lab- The Simulation Lab has been developed to train manikins with the use of training kits such as
SimMan and SimBaby which are computerized. The Simulation Lab provides training to undergraduate and
postgraduate students with the help of training manikins in the field of medical, dental, nursing and other health
related fields.
• Anatomy Museum- There is an anatomy museum built inside the college campus which showcases more than
3,000 specimens and other anatomical things including the skulls of an elephant, a whale, and the long skeleton
of a King Cobra. The Anatomy Museum was renamed as Manipal Museum of Anatomy and Pathology in
November 2012. The museum remains open from 8 am to 6 pm on all working days excluding public holidays.
• Library- The central library of Kasturba Medical College Manipal was developed in 1953 with an area of 13,950
sq meters which is well equipped with a seating capacity of 1207 students. The library is also provided with other
facilities like audio-visual room, computer lab, group study area and private study area. The library remains
open from 8.30 am to 11.30 pm on all working days. The library has a collection of total 45572 books including
both text and reference books, 349 journals out of which 101 are Indian and 248 are foreign.
• Sports Facility- The hostel provides different playgrounds and courts for playing sports like cricket, football,
basketball, lawn tennis, throw-ball, volleyball etc. A coach is also provided to guide the students regarding any
sports.
• Hostel- Different hostels are provided by Kasturba Medical College Manipal for boys and girls. Separate
accommodation is provided to girls and boys on the basis of availability of rooms. All the rooms are provided
with all basic facilities including hot water, laundry, telephone. All the hostels are also equipped with internet
facilities. Students are also provided with facilities for indoor games like table tennis, carom and gym. There is
also a food court provided for some hostels which serves quality food to students. All the hostels also have
wardens to maintain the rules and regulations of hostels.

• Manipal Poison Information Centre- This centre of Kasturba Medical College Manipal has been formed to
provide information to doctors and common people regarding any poisoning using software like Micromedex
and Poisindex. This centre has also organised programmes for farmers to spread awareness about the
poisonous effects of chemicals.
