The Major Nine Planets can be divided into 4 main categories, Benefic planets, Mild
and Soft planets, Malefic Planets, Cruel and brutal planets.

The major Nine planets as per Vedic Astrology can be categorized as Benefic
planets – Jupiter and Venus, mild and soft planets – Moon and Mercury, Malefic

10th lord ruled by benefic planets – Jupiter and Venus

When the 10th house is ruled by a benefic planet, then the person is usually involved

10th lord ruled by mild planets – Moon and Mercury

When the 10th house is ruled by cruel planets, then the person is a ruler or part of
state authority. The direction is east or south.

Sun ruling the 10th house indicates authoritative post in Govt. or in corporate sector.
The person can be a director or doctor. In business they can be involved in dealing
with jewelry.

Mars ruling the lord of 10th house or placed in the 10th house indicates police,
Military, construction related professions. They can also be engaged in Metal or
energy sector.
