Industry Experience (where relevant): For the past 5 months, I have been a trainee of several audit teams in Baker Tilly TFW LLP. Throughout this experience, not only have I picked up important technical skills relevant to auditing, I have become more independent in my profession and gained better interpersonal skills. I have learnt to endure and persevere through the late nights during my course of duties. I have assisted the Audit Team in auditing companies in the Construction (listed), Hotel (listed) and Non-Profit driven Sectors.

Professional Competencies: I am proficient in my use of Microsoft Excel, AccPac and MYOB. From my 5 months audit experience at Baker Tilly, I have learnt some very useful and important skills in handling the clients' accounts. I am adept at sourcing out the relevant and necessary information from the clients I have a good knowledge and understanding of accounting and is familiar with the Singapore Companies Act and Singapore Financial Reporting Standards.

Why are you applying for this position? Firstly, I would like to gain more exposure in the industry by experiencing work in the big 4. Secondly, this experience would definitely be a very good learning experience for me. Last but not least, I am hoping to use this experience I gain from PWC as an advantage point for my application to enter NTU What has led you to choose a career in professional services? Most importantly, it is because of my belief that a career in professional services sets us apart from the more communal jobs. I feel that there is financial stability in such careers even in times of economic adversities and downswings. Why do you think you are suited for this career? I have been studying accountancy for almost 6 years since secondary school. Initially, like most students, I have my doubts and skeptism in the career path that I have chosen. However, as I grow, learn and experience more in this line, I feel a sense of satisfaction and drive in my work.
