    MATERIALS
    Yarn:- Oddments of
    UK weight Double
    Knitting Yarn.
    (I used Stylecraft
    Special DK).
    3.5mm Hook.
    Small amounts of
    stuffing. Buttons or any
    embellishment of your
    choice.
    Eyes can be made
    using buttons or
    beads, or
    embroidered.
    Wool type sewing
    needle for finishing off.

    ABBREVIATIONS

    Ch = chain
    St = stitch
    Dc = double crochet
    Dc2tog = double crochet 2 together
    Inc = increase

    NSTRUCTIONS

    HEAD
    Foundation - chain 2.
    Rnd 1: Work 6 dc in first

    chain.

    Rnd 2: Work 2 dc in each dc around - 12 dc.

    Rnd 3: *2 dc in next st, dc in next st, rep from * around - 18 dc.

    Rnd 4: *2 dc in next st, dc in each of next 2 sts, rep from * around - 24 sts.

    Rnd 5: *2 dc in next st, dc in each of next 3 sts, rep from * around - 30 sts.

    Rnd 6: *2 dc in next st, dc in each of next 4 sts, rep from * around - 36 sts.

    Rnds 7 -14: dc in each dc around.

    Rnd 15: *dc2tog, dc in each of next 4 sts, rep from * around - 30 sts.

    Rnd 16: *dc2tog, dc in each of next 3 sts, rep from * around - 24 sts.

    Rnd 17: *dc2tog, dc in each of next 2 sts, rep from * around - 18 sts.

    START TO ADD STUFFING AT THIS POINT

    • For the SNOWMAN - fasten off at this point and continue with the body.

    • For the SNOWBALL – Continue to complete the ball shape.

    Rnd 18: *dc2tog, dc in the next st, rep from * around - 12 sts.

    Rnd 19: *dc2tog, rep from * around - 6 sts.

    ADD ANY FINAL STUFFING

    Rnd 20: *dc2tog, rep from * around – to completely close the gap.

    BODY

    Foundation – chain 2.

    Rnds 1-6: Work same as Rounds 1-6 for the Head - 36 dc.

    Rnd 7: *2 dc in next st, dc in each of next 5 sts, rep from * around - 42 sts.

    Rnd 8: *2 dc in next st, dc in each of next 6 sts, rep from * around - 48 sts.

    Rnd 9: dc through back loop of each dc around.

    Rnds 10 -19: dc in each dc around.

    Rnd 20: *dc2tog, dc in each of next 6 sts, rep from * around - 42 sts

    Rnd 21: *dc2tog, dc in each of next 5 sts, rep from * around - 36 sts.

    Rnd 22: *dc2tog, dc in each of next 4 sts, rep from * around - 30 sts.

    Rnd 23: *dc2tog, dc in each of next 3 sts, rep from * around - 24 sts.

    Rnd 24: *dc2tog, dc in each of next 2 sts, rep from * around - 18 sts. Fasten

    off.

    ARMS

    Foundation – chain 2.

    Rnd 1: Work 6 dc in first chain.

    Rnd 2: Work 2 dc in each dc around - 12 dc.

    Rnds 3-6: dc in each dc around.

    ADD STUFFING TO ARMS

    Rnd 7: *dc2tog in each st, rep from * around - 6 sts. Fasten off.

    CARROT NOSE

    Make 4 chain.

    Miss 3 ch, Make 1 treble cluster. Fasten off and stitch sides of cluster together

    to create carrot nose. See the end of the pattern for a full tutorial on how

    to make the carrot nose.

    EAR WARMERS

    Headband - Make 21 chain

    Row 1: Dc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across - 20 sts.

    Rows 2-4: Ch 1, turn, dc in each dc across. Fasten off.

    Earpads, make 2 - Foundation - chain 4.

    Rnd 1: Work 14 treble in 4th chain from hook, slip stitch to top of 3rd chain.

    Fasten off.

    HAT

    Foundation - ch 2.

    Rnds 1-6: Rep Rnds 1-5 of Head - 36 dc.

    Rnd 7: *2 dc in next st, dc in each of next 5 sts, rep from * around - 42 sts.

    Rnds 8-11: dc in each dc around.

    Rnd 12: Change colour and work 1 dc in each dc around.

    For a pom pom, I just wrapped some yarn around 2 fingers and then tied a

    piece of yarn around the middle, to hold it in place and then snipped the ends.

    SCARF

    Make 71 chain

    Row 1: Dc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across - 70 sts.

    Rows 2-4: Ch 1, turn, dc in each dc across. Fasten off.

    FINISHING

    Firmly stuff Head/Body, Sew head to body. Tie scarf around neck. Weave in

    ends. Sew eyes and mouth, plus attach nose.

    HOW TO MAKE THE CARROT NOSE

    1. 2.
    Make 4 chain. Then start to make
    1 treble in the 4th
    chain from the
    hook. But stop
    when you just have
    2 stitches left on the
    hook.
