Perhaps it was fate.

The realm shattered. The unreachable immortals fell. The darkness consumed.

Neither spells or techniques did anything to the encroaching entropy.

And the cultivators, mortals who broke through heavenly tribulations to defy fate, mortals who shaped
the realm to their benefit, mortals who rose up against immortal negligence, mortals who challenged
certain demise-

The cultivators fell.

Strong, weak, average. None survived the catastrophe. Darkness consumed all, the void of nothingness
whispering sweet words of rebirth and renewal, yet destroying each and everyone who believed its
words down to the soul.

None could stop it. None could hide from it.

Twelve realms once stood. Now none remained. Perhaps it was their hubris that got them destroyed.
Perhaps it was simply a natural disaster. However, someone must still record their stories. The realms
once full of life and vigor, must have their histories preserved for any who come in the future.

This story will be one such record. The record of Wolf Valley.

The realm truly began when the first cultivators were born. There was history and life before, yes, but
cultivators signaled the beginning of progress within Wolf Valley.

Old cultivators, some peerless, some desperate, came from the other realms to populate the new realm.
Traveling between the void of realms damaged their cultivation bases intensely, making them have to
start their journey from the beginning once more, just like the natives.

However, not many chose to do this, and thus, the new realm still had many natives. Young and
upcoming geniuses with talent that could contend with the experience the ancient otherworld
cultivators had.

During the tumultuous early period of the realm, the spot for the strongest cultivator changed often. At
times, it was Emit, at others, it was Deacon, but many times, it was Monster.

Monster was an extremely fortunate cultivator. His luck was godsent, and despite being an essence
cultivator, his physique was far better than even his fellows who cultivated their body.

However, he was not just fortunate, he was also highly experienced.

Using his strength, which far outstripped anyone even on the same realm as him, he dominated the
realm and claimed the spot as the strongest cultivator in the early years of the realm.

Fate favored him, and so did the people. He was hailed as the champion of Wolf Valley, and he held that
title for a long time. He was not properly defeated even after he lost the title, but his legacy of peerless
strength remained.

His strength as a beacon, cultivators flocked to his sect, Hellraios, to receive guidance and with a hope of
inheriting even a small percentage of strength the man had.
Hellraios became the strongest sect at that time, their numbers swelling and power outstripping any
other sect at that time besides one other, this other sect being Mount Hua.

These two sects, however, were not the only sects to hold considerable power. There were other sects
too, each having held a little bit of power within the realm. Chocolate, Ships, Rose, Devourer, and Zenwu
were the biggest sects at that time, and the sects that remained during the Reckoning.

This early era would also be know as the era of birth. This would be the era in which the Twelve
Immortals of Wolf Valley were born, and the era in which many norms and forces were established.

The early era ended – truly ended- when Wolf Valley was exposed to its sister realm. A realm that had
developed at nearly the same time as it had. The Misty Forest realm.

The strongest cultivators of both realms at the time, simply at the middle stages of Nascent Soul,
competed in a cross realm tournament to determine who would be the strongest cultivator in both
realms.

The duels in the early era cemented the position of Wolf Valley as inferior to their sister realm. Despite
the great power of Monster, Misty Forest had many more masters at nearly his caliber. In the end, there
were only three from Wolf Valley to have held a spot in the top 10 of this tournament:

Monster, who was the strongest in the realm.

Deacon, the sect master of Hellraios.

Gen, Hellraios' deputy.

While this did absolutely cement the power of the realm compared to Misty Forest, it also cemented the
power of Hellraios within Wolf Valley. More people flocked to their sect to receive guidance. It was
fortunate then that they did, as joining under the wing of Hellraios might have spared them a worse fate
than what could have happened next.

The beginning of the next era was a time of strife, and would start a cold war.. It began with tensions
between Wolf Valley and Misty Forest.

Misty Forest had become domineering after seeing Wolf Valley's poor performance against them in the
tournament. Wolf Valley cultivators were mocked as weak. Some from cultivators in Misty Forest, but
many were from their fellow cultivators in Wolf Valley.

This mockery spurned the rage of many cultivators within the realm. This anger simmered as they
cultivated, vowing to do better against their foes from their sister realm.

Then, came a boon. The Origin Core. It promised rewards to all within the realm. Promises of excellent
elixirs, pills, and curios were sung to the desperate ears of Wolf Valley cultivators. A once in every 700
years event.

But the Misty Forest realm had it.

Envy and rage spurned the top cultivators of Wolf Valley to scheme. They gathered their strongest
supporters, the strongest in the realm, all at a high cultivation stage for the time, Nascent Soul.
The opportunity came when one of the strongest cultivators of Misty Forest, and winner of the cross
realm tournament, invaded Wolf Valley. Nana was a legend within his realm, and a symbol of fear within
Wolf Valley. His invasion was something that the strongest members of Wolf Valley could have stopped
together, but in their greed, decided to ignore.

Thinking that their scheme will work without Nana interfering, they struck.

The cultivators of Misty Forest were relaxed at the time, cultivating in seclusion and strengthening
themselves with the monster cores they gathered. When the world shook signifying the arrival of enemy
cultivators, they were surprised.

“Wh-what's happening?” A young cultivator in the Virtuoso stage stammered. “What's going on?”

In front of him, an invader appeared. A Wolf Valley cultivator in the Nascent Soul stage sneered at the
defender as he stabbed the virtuoso in the chest. “Your fortune belongs to us.”

The Misty Forest fell under attack as dozens of cultivators attacked. Many virtuoso cultivators were slain
during this vanguard attack, and thus their stronger cultivators were distracted in attempting to defend
from the otherworld invaders.

However, they noticed one thing. “Where are their strongest?”

They received their answer when their realm shook and a warning rung in their heads. “Help! The Origin
Core is under attack! They’re in—ack!” The message cut out.

With a grim look in their face, the strongest cultivators of Misty Forest swiftly teleported into the Origin
Realm, only to be met with death.

Dozens of cultivators lay slain underneath three otherworld invaders.

Emit, the cultivator seeming like a little girl, casually twirled her(?) staff and pointed it to the defenders.
“I'll take care of this. Get the core.”

The two nodded and flew into the direction of the core.

The expressions of the Misty Forest defenders twisted. “Arrogance! You may be strong in your realm,
but you are nothing compared to us.”

Emit smiled. “Well, let's test my luck then.”

“Be careful, she is an essence cultivator,” a defender cautioned, eyeing the staff. “We must be-"

“She's just a child,” another interjected. “Just rush her!”

The defenders agreed and rushed towards the essence(?) cultivator. They closed the distance and-

“Well… I don't actually cultivate essence.”

With a sweep of her(?) staff, dozens of defenders were immediately slain. Her strength was beyond
theirs. She(?) was not an essence cultivator… She(?) was..

“A warrior!” A cultivator roared. A cultivator teleported and came from above. Seeing this, Emit frowned
and leaped back, avoiding a powerful slashing technique that destroyed the ground around it.
“You! Invader!” The defender, a woman in white robes, pulled her sword out of the ground and pointed
it towards her. “You are facing Xiyi of the High Heavens Sect. Will you have enough honor to face me in
battle?”

“Honor?” Emit giggled. “Can I eat that? Well, anyway, you're actually pretty good, so I'll tell you. I'm
Emit,” she(?) got into a stance. “Can you withstand more of my hits?”

Xiyi closed the distance with a leap and attempted to strike the little girl(?) from above, but Emit dodged
deftly and struck her back with the staff, forcing her to crash to the ground.

“Trying the same trick twice? Foolish,” Emit taunted. “Death Touch!” she(?) lunged forward and struck
the fallen woman, making her scream and fly backwards.

Emit’s eyes flashed with greed, aiming to slay the woman and take her treasures. She(?) rushed towards
the warrior, staff moving for an overhead blow when an array suddenly appeared around her(?),
trapping her(?) in place.

She(?) frowned. “What? A root array?”

She(?) struggled to move, but was suddenly struck by lightning. Her(?) defenses were nearly shattered
as she(?) was pushed back by the explosive power of the technique.

“Perhaps you should be fighting me.”

Nana said, floating from above, a cold gaze staring at the little warrior.

“What?! Weren't you still in Wolf Valley?!” Emit gasped in surprise. “What are you doing here?”

“You knew I was there,” Nana said in an accusing tone. “You left your people to die as I slaughtered
them.”

“Their deaths would be worth it if we acquired the Origin Core,” Emit brandished her(?) weapon again,
preparing to fight the strongest cultivator in two realms. “I must stop you here!”

In the end, the appearance of Nana made the invasion attempt fail. The three vanguard invaders failed
to do significant damage to the core, even when they were reinforced with the rest of the invaders.
Nana had not come alone, and had come with many of the members of High Heaven. While they were
not all strong, and many were slaughtered by the invaders, the invaders were still forced to return to
Wolf Valley in failure.

This failed invasion, however, was not the end of the scheming in Wolf Valley. They continued to
scheme and plan for the next attack. For the next 700 years, the cultivators of Wolf Valley would have
schemed to be the stronger of the two realms. These schemes, however, would instead be interrupted
by the disappearance of two very powerful cultivators; Monster and Deacon.

Their disappearance caused a power vacuum to occur. No longer was Monster the most powerful
cultivator in the realm, and Hellraios was no longer as powerful as before without their sect master
leading them.
In the end, many of the strongest members of Hellraios deserted their sect and joined Mount Hua. The
power of Mount Hua would, from then on, be completely uncontested throughout the realm, even
during the Reckoning.

With the disappearance of Monster, the title of strongest cultivator was once again contested. In the
arena, cultivators proved themselves through combat and strength. In the arena, Gen, the former
deputy of Hellraios, now part of Mount Hua, took the spot of strongest, and became the second Mortal
Champion.

For a time, life was good in Wolf Valley. People cultivated in peace with no war to worry about.
Cultivators relaxed as the conflict created by the power vacuum formed by the disappearance of two
major players were filled.

Then, the Origin Core was once again formed. This time, within Wolf Valley.

At first, the cultivators were overjoyed. They experienced the benefits of the core with no issues and
managed to advance and push past their limits with the power of the core. However, veterans from the
first Otherworld Invasion knew the grim truth: it was a sign of war.

And so, the cultivators prepared. Members of Mount Hua held defensive positions around the Origin
Core, sprinkled with fodder from some minor sects. They held their breath and cultivated as they waited
for the enemy's invasion.

All their preparations meant nothing for what happened next.

It was a massacre. The leaders barely escaped with their lives, and the fodder were immediately slain as
a cultivator enhanced with Mara Essence appeared within the Origin Realm along with an escort of
Incarnation stage cultivators. Wolf Valley had their own Incarnation cultivators, but the cultivator
enhanced with Mara Essence was Nana, and this enhancement put him worlds above anyone else in the
two realms.

They easily destroyed the core and made it form within Misty Forest. Mount Hua, at this point having all
of the strongest cultivators in Wolf Valley, as well as all the Incarnation stage cultivators, planned a
counterattack based on the enemy’s strategy to take back the core.

They gathered their members and many others from the minor sects. They retrieved some Mara
Essence, a rare find, considering the relative weakness of their realm, and mounted an assault on Misty
Forest's Origin Core.

It was a resounding success at the beginning. The hastily created defenses were shattered by the wave
of invaders, and incoming Incarnation cultivators were appropriately dealt with by the Mara Essence
enhanced Beast Cult.

“Push to the core!” Emit, the acting sect master of Mount Hua roared. “We will take it back! We must
take it back!”

Her(?) army roared as they broke past the defenses and started hacking at the core's outer layers, slowly
but surely stripping it of its power within Misty Forest.

Once again. It all fell apart once Nana arrived.

Their Marafied Beast Cult could not handle the powerful Nana, who had grown even stronger than
before, even with the vast gap of power between them. The powerful treasures and strong cultivation
base that Nana had secured him a win, even if not easy. The Marafied Beast Cult fell, and disappeared as
he fled back to Wolf Valley to avoid death. The Mount Hua invaders, shocked, were felled one by one by
High Heaven defenders.

And thus, the second Otherworld Invasion came to a close with a whimper as Wolf Valley accepted the
fact that they would never be able to defeat Misty Forest.

However, Mount Hua held out hope. If they could not defeat Misty Forest, maybe they could at least
defeat High Heaven?

Mount Hua and High Heaven were the strongest sects within the two realms. In their respective realms,
they were spoken of with reverence. In their foe’s realms, they were spoken of with fear and derision.
And so it was decided: the two realms would have a competition of sorts resembling a traditional war.
They called it the Worlds' Apex.

Four sects from each realm were invited. Of course, Mount Hua and High Heaven, as the two strongest
sects, were expected to go.

And thus, they went to battle.

High Heaven, with their superior battle power, took the lead. They crushed the opposition and held the
strongest zones, forming a defensive line and invading the side of Mount Hua cautiously.

In comparison, Mount Hua recklessly charged forward. This tactic surprised the High Heaven cultivators,
as they were beset on all sides by Mount Hua cultivators.

Perhaps they did not expect the charge. Perhaps they thought Mount Hua foolish for not defending their
zones. Either way, seeing the hyper aggression of Mount Hua prompted them to split their few members
apart to try and distract the numerous Mount Hua from the big zones.

However, quantity is a quality all on its own. With superior numbers, Mount Hua's strategy of harassing
undefended zones and assaulting the big zones with greater numbers earned them a win, the only sect
to win a World's Apex battle within Wolf Valley, as every other sect that joined were defeated.

It would also be the last time they would hold the title of World Champion, as the era progresses into
the late era, and into the Reckoning.

The late era began with the ascension of Emit into immortality, or at least, into the Spiritual World, 2301
years after the realm was born. It would, however, prove to be the most uneventful era, until the
Reckoning.

She(?) was the first to ascend past the boundaries of the mortal realm, but she(?) would not be the last,
she(?) hoped. Their win against High Heaven had bolstered realm-wide morale, and cultivators were
once again hopeful that they could win and fight against Misty Forest cultivators, just like Mount Hua
had.

They would be met with great disappointment, as soon after the first ascension, they would be met with
terrifying strength.
Their two realms, through either terrible luck or god's design, had met the two oldest realms in the
universe, Lake Blackwater and Fox Mountain.

Any domination that the two relatively young realms had were swept aside as the new, domineering
realms showed up and established themselves far above anything the two realms had.

Conflict between the two realms ceased as they settled down and consolidated what power they had.
Battles became infrequent. There were no longer any big breakthroughs in power that changed the
landscape of battle like before.

The two realms bid their position in the cross realm stage goodbye as they slunk into the shadows,
knowing they would never contend again.

And then the whispers of rebirth happened.

It was a rumor, at the beginning. Something was coming. Something that would change everything. A
new realm- no, a new everything.

Everyone would start from the beginning once more. The old realms too. Everything reset. Everything
becomes as it was.

The rumors spread, and people began hoping.

And then it came.

It destroyed everything it touched. Many cultivators went to meet it in open arms only to be shred to
pieces, even their souls being destroyed. The realm was torn at the edges as the darkness destroyed
everything the cultivators had created.

Some cultivators went insane. Some went into hiding.

All of them died. Consumed by the void.

Now, none of them remain. Wolf Valley was destroyed, only around 2800 years of age.

They would never be able to rise above their seniors.

They would never have the chance to have more than Twelve Immortals.

They would never be able to prove themselves equal, or even a competitor, to other realms.

But they ended just like that.

And thus ends, the history of Wolf Valley.

TRIVIA

*Emit(me) is a guy.
*My character was initially a loli, but I used a shapeshifting pill when I ascended to change to the grown
woman avatar.

*The otherworld invasions did happen like that, with little dramatization besides the dialogue. I'm still
salty about Xiyi having a Nana shield.

*Mount Hua did win the World Apex, but we withdrew from all other Apex when we connected to S1
and S2

*I didn’t bother describing sect duels because they weren't necessarily server history. Likewise, I am
sure I missed a lot of other events. I hope other people can say so and fill in the rest.

Thanks to you, dear reader, for giving this the time of day. I hope to meet you in the official release!
