This document summarizes research on factors affecting the college course choices of Grade 12 students in the Philippines. The key findings are that many students choose the general academic strand because they are undecided on a course, and the majority of students are unsure or somewhat sure of what they will study. Parents have a significant influence on students' choices due to financial concerns and desires for their children's success. The researcher recommends that students consider career opportunities and societal needs while still having freedom to choose, and that scholarships can help overcome financial barriers to education.

Summary of Findings, Conclusions and
Recommendation
This chapter presents the summary of findings of
the research, the interpretation and analysis of data. It also includes the conclusion and contains recommendation from the researchers.
Summary of Findings
This research aimed to study the Factors affecting
grade 12 gas students in school year 2018 - 2022 in choosing college courses. -Indeed, deciding what course to take in college is relentlessly tedious, it takes time to think what to take. thus, now we are going to meticulously examine the aspects of this particular topic 1. Reason of Choosing GAS in Senior High School According to the data that the researchers have gathered, the reason why grade 12 students choose gas strand is that they are undecided. This is mainly because they are still choosing, or they can’t properly choose what college course they will take. -We cannot disguise the truth that the majority of students are having difficulty selecting their strand, which is why some of them probably end up on the gas strand. Lack of certainty over what to take is one of the major variables influencing students' decisions about which courses to take in college.
2. How Sure are the students on what they will
Take in College? Since the majority of the respondents are undecided, we can say that majority of the answers are somewhat sure, or not sure. We can claim rather, that the majority of replies we have received are either relatively certain or uncertain. The reason why majority of the respondents choose somewhat sure and not sure is because they are choosing between two or more courses in college, or they still didn’t know what they will take in college, so they are still undecided. -This might be because they are thinking two steps ahead and don’t want to shift course if ever they don’t like their chosen courses in the future, because honestly that would be very stressful for an individual to start over right, if they feel like they no longer interested with the course they are taking.
3. Do parents affect students in choosing college
courses? Yes, Definitely.
A study conducted by the researchers found out
that the reason why parents affect students in choosing college courses has two factors. First Factor:
The first factor of the respondent’s parents affects
them in choosing college courses is because their parents are the main reason why they want to go in college. They want to find a proper course for them so they can provide what their parents’ needs in the future. And some of the respondents believe that their parents know what their future might be if they take this kind of course. -Moreover, yes, parents do have a significant impact on our life decisions, owing to the fact that they are always thinking about what is best for us. They don't want us to be a failure. They want their child to have the finest profession possible so that he or she may live a lavish life. Second Factor
The second factor of the respondent’s parents in
affecting them in choosing college courses is that their parents or their family has lack of financial status. Some students are not going to college because their family has financial struggle status to send them to college. And this might be the case of these students who says that their parents affect them in choosing college courses. -College cost much. We cannot disregard the costs that parents must have to pay. While some fees are covered in government-owned colleges, for parents who do not have secure incomes, their purses are groaning with many payments. Furthermore, some courses are not provided at some government colleges, which is why some students opt to attend private universities, which are likely to be significantly more expensive.
4. Choosing what factors or advantages that gas
strand gives The researchers have gathered data in choosing factors or advantages of gas strand gives, and it says that the majority of them believes that it gives students the freedom to explore their options and gives them a good mix of subjects. Mainly because these students apparently take GAS to know what their interests are in studying some subjects in all strands. Some of the respondents said that they chose this advantage because they want to know their interest in a particular subject, and they might get some idea on what they will take in college like if they are interest in HUMSS subjects they might want to become a policeman or a lawyer.
Now, we'll go on to the next section of our
presentation, where we'll present you with the conclusions of our research.
Conclusion
According to the study's findings, the factors
influencing a student's decision in what course to take in college are financial aid, educational quality, tuition affordability, and environment and culture. It cannot be overstated how critical course selection is for students in senior high school. The findings imply that the various factors that influence students' choices are adaptable regardless of their age, or family wealth. Students who pursue their dreams are conscious of their abilities and knowledge. Parents must supervise their children in all aspects of their lives, including decision-making. While parents can influence their children's career choices, young adults must make their own.
We'll now go to the last phase of our presentation,
where we'll present you with the recommendations of our research
Recommendations
Parents should let their children to choose for their
preferred course. Every Student has their own skills and talents that needs enhancement. The student has an ability to choose what best for them.
-Students must have the freedom to make their
own decisions about their future since it is their life to live. Parents should only be a guide for their child, not the solid foundation for what the final decision should be. Parents' opinions matter, but so is the student's decision.
Grade 12 Student in choosing college courses
needs to understand what the need of the society. And this can be beneficial for their own growth also for their financial stability.
-Every student should be aware of the high-
demand jobs in the market. This is due to the fact that society is searching for someone who can contribute to a certain field that will aid in meeting the demands of the society. Ultimately, students should consider these things in order to withstand the growing economic strain, because doing so will be helpful not only for their individual progress, but also for their financial stability in the future.
If the student really wants to take the course,
he or she wants in college, but their family doesn't have enough money. they can get a scholarship to reduce school fees and if they are lucky, they can also get a full scholarship where parents do not have to pay for school expenses. -Poverty, without a doubt, is not an impediment to education. Scholarships are available from local government agencies for students who want assistance with their education expenses. However, this may only apply to individuals who are extremely motivated and determined to complete their education. Financial instability is not a barrier to college. There are several things you may do to gear up for and succeed in school. One must be accountable, dedicated, and willing to take risks and do everything it takes to achieve success.
For grade 12 undecided students, they can
work first to think carefully about what course they will take and also to have savings in case they have already chosen a course in college. - This is possible if the student is capable of handling and can manage some of the potential issues that may arise from pausing to carefully consider the course to undertake. This is a good strategy for avoiding and preventing conflicts in college. Most notably in finance, because working while having time to consider what course to pursue is a smart option. Not only does it made him/her save money before going to college, but you also made them a final decision on what course to take. I sincerely appreciate your attention today this this morning. And that brings us to the end. Thank you so much for your time. Have a great day ahead.
