Lesson 1, 2 and 3

Bachelor in Technology and Livelihood Education major in Home Economics
1. Write down at least five (5) similarities and five (5) differences of the mission,
vision and goals of CTU and the Coed BTLED Outcomes. Explain why they are
similar and different. Give examples.

Similarities

 The goals of CTU is to prepare students for their upcoming future relating to the
course they chose
 It aims to provide accessible education to everyone
 The main purpose is for the betterment of the education system for the students
 It's well versed on the goal of implementing technology in education
 It's more centered technology being used in educational purposes

Differences

 to compile knowledge and make it generally usable and accessible.

2. Examine your house and take note on the different things that are not properly
arranged. Compare it the basic Classroom Rules in your notes. Give the best solution
in this problem.

 The things that are not properly arranged are clothes, shoes, toys, school
materials, bags and etc. Compared to our classroom rules, the rules are more
organized and systematic. The best solution to this problem is to arrange the
things in your house, clean it and organize it well in order to have a pleasing
surroundings.

3. Pick one course content in your syllabus and explain why this is relevant in this
subject using your prior knowledge.

 Cultural Adaptation
It is relevant to this subject in order to gain knowledge, ideas, and information, to
know how that certain culture was being adapted by, it also helps us accept the new
changes, it promotes better participation and engagement with a program and helps
us know what are the processes in Cultural adaptation. In order for us to know the
history of how that certain culture was adapted. And to know the advantages of
adapting culture as well as the disadvantages.

Compare the similarities on the different standards created by CHED and UNESCO
2017 on ICT standards to the DEPED ICT standard in PPST to the ISTE Standards.

Based on the results we can say that teachers are introduced to
technology but are not an expert of using it as a tool for classes.

TECHNOLOGY- hardware and software that detects or causes a change, through the
direct monitoring and/or control of industrial equipment, assets, processes and
events.
ICT LITERACY- using digital technology, communications tools, and/or networks to
access, manage, integrate, evaluate, and create information in order to function in a
knowledge society.

EDUCATIONAL TECHNOLOGY - the study and ethical practice of facilitating learning


and improving performance by creating, using, and managing appropriate
technological processes and resources.

DIGITAL LITERACY- means having the skills you need to live, learn, and work in a
society where communication and access to information is increasingly through digital
technologies like internet platforms, social media, and mobile devices. Developing your
critical thinking skills.

DIGITAL LEARNING- a learning method based on the use of new digital tools to
enable learners to learn in a different way, whether it be face-to-face, distance learning
(asynchronous or synchronous) or blended learning.

OFF-LINE DIGITAL TOOLS AND APPS- these are software applications and tools that
could still work and. function in the absence of internet connection.

INSTRUCTIONAL TECHNOLOGY- refers to the theory and practice of design,


development, utilization, management and evaluation of the processes and resources
for learning.

VLOG- Vlog stands for a video blog or video log, and refers to a type of blog where most
or all of the content is in a video format. Vlog posts consist of creating a video of
yourself where you talk on a particular subject such as reporting or reviewing a
product or an event.

FACEBOOK- Facebook is a website which allows users, who sign-up for free profiles,
to connect with friends, work colleagues or people they don't know, online. It allows
users to share pictures, music, videos, and articles, as well as their own thoughts and
opinions with however many people they like.
VOIP- Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP), is a technology that allows you to make voice
calls using a broadband Internet connection instead of a regular (or analog) phone
line.

GOOGLE APPS- a Web-based and collaborative Software as a Service (SaaS) solution


that customizes the proprietary Google platform and brand for businesses of all sizes,
including large enterprises.

PODCAST- a digital audio file made available on the internet for downloading to a
computer or mobile device, typically available as a series, new installments of which
can be received by subscribers automatically.

WIKI- A wiki is a hypertext publication collaboratively edited and managed by its own
audience, using a web browser. A typical wiki contains multiple pages for the subjects
or scope of the project, and could be either open to the public or limited to use within
an organization for maintaining its internal knowledge base.

BLOG- A blog (a truncation of "weblog") is a discussion or informational website


published on the World Wide Web consisting of discrete, often informal diary-style text
entries (posts). Posts are typically displayed in reverse chronological order so that the
most recent post appears first, at the top of the web page.

SOFTWARE- Software is a set of instructions, data or programs used to operate


computers and execute specific tasks. It is the opposite of hardware, which describes
the physical aspects of a computer. Software is a generic term used to refer to
applications, scripts and programs that run on a device.

WEB ACCESS- Web access means having a connection to the World Wide Web
through an access provider or an online service provider such as America Online. For
data access, access is usually specified as read-only access and read/write access

MULTIMEDIA- Multimedia is a form of communication that uses a combination of


different content forms such as text, audio, images, animations, or video into a single
interactive presentation, in contrast to traditional mass media, such as printed
material or audio recordings, which features little to no interaction between users.
INTERNET- a global computer network providing a variety of information and
communication facilities, consisting of interconnected networks using standardized
communication protocols.

DIGITAL LEARNING- Digital learning is any type of learning that is accompanied by


technology or by instructional practice that makes effective use of technology. It
encompasses the application of a wide spectrum of practices, including blended and
virtual learning

TECHNOLOGY TOOLS- Technology is booming in today's classrooms. Teachers and


students have access to countless technology tools that help them instruct and learn.
Three top teacher tools include the interactive whiteboard, computer, and document
camera. Student learning is supplemented with tablets, clickers, and apps

WEBQUEST- A Web Quest is an inquiry-oriented lesson format in which most or all


the information that learners work with comes from the web. These can be created
using various programs, including a simple word processing document that includes
links to websites.

SKYPE- Skype is software that enables the world's conversations. Millions of


individuals and businesses use Skype to make free video and voice one-to-one and
group calls, send instant messages and share files with other people on Skype. You
can use Skype on whatever works best for you – on your mobile, computer or tablet
