D. Your evaluation of why the child you observed did not achieve the characteristics that were expected for the age. y From my point of view, I think the child did not have much experience with boardgames, color differentiations, and needs little practice drawing. The childs family also spoke in different language, and the mom also explained that no one is available to teach the child because mother goes to college and father works full time job, so the grandparents take care of the child. E. Your description of why a child in the hospital might regress, and what characteristics you might expect to see in a child that was hospitalized of the same age. y There are many reasons why a 3 and half-year-old child might regress. The following reasons are: o One of the main one is separation anxiety because they fear their mother will not return once she separates, so repeating separation under the condition the child can control, is very important for this age to over come separation anxiety. o Inability to perform ritualism and routines, because those are such things that build childs sense of control and confidence. o Another main one is that child may have negative experiences with the environment that build up fears associated with

hospital settings. Such as getting vaccine shots, surgery, or any invasive or painful experience led to fear. F. Your identification of at least 3 environmental factors that may influence the childs ability to successfully meet the development milestones. y Familys education level and y Familys financial ability such as child in a poverty or poor conditions will not have same opportunities as other children. y Family for routines, morals, and values. G. Your plan for teaching the parents what to expect in the next phase of growth and development for this child (give the next phase) and at least 2 things they can do to help the child meet these milestones successfully. y For the next phase of School years, the parents need to prepare the child for school. Preparation for school begins long time before preschool years. Plan for what to expect in the next phase of growth and development for the child includes: o Initiative to learn and read o Ability to be independent y Thing parents can do to prepare the child includes: o Parents can attune their environment of the children to provide challenges as well as security to build their cognitive growth and provide opportunities. o Visiting a zoo, fire station, or museum and talking about experience increases the childs general knowledge and vocabulary. o Cooking, playing simple games, or putting puzzles together also fosters intellectual development. o Reading to the child is one of the most valuable activities for promoting school readiness, and listening to stories and discussing them can promote reading skills.
