PATTERN DRAFTING OF BLOUSE

I. Measurements Needed:
1. Shoulder Measurement 2. Bust Measurement 3. Waist Measurement
4. Full Bodice Length 5. Length of Blouse 6. Apex Height
7. Apex Distance 8. Armhole

III. Procedure: (Front)


1. AB = Full Bodice Length.
Square from A and B.
2. AB1 = Desired Length of Blouse.
3. AC = 4 – 4 ½ inches. Square from C. K
4. AD = Apex height. Square from D. 3

5. AE = 3 inches. Connect E and C with a curve line K


using French curve to form the front neckline.
6. AF = ½ Shoulder Measurement.
Square down from F.
7. FG = 1 ½ inches.
Connect E and G with a straight line.
8. GH = 4 inches; HI = 1 inch.
9. AJ = ¼ Bust Measurement plus 1 inch.
Square down.
10. JK = ½ Bodice Length plus ½ inch.
Square from K. Connect GIK to form the front armhole
using a French curve.
11. DL = ½ Apex Distance; BM = DL. Connect L and M with a straight line.
12. KK1 = 3 – 3 ½ inches. K1 K2 = 3 – 3 ½ .Intersect to point L 1 inch apart.
K1 K3; K1 K4 = 1/4”. Connect K3 to K2 and K4 to K2.
12. MN and MO = ½ inch. Connect LN and LO using hip curve ruler (concave, for front dart
only).
13. ML1 = 5 inches. Square down from B. Connect L1 and N and L1 and O with a
straight line.
14. BP = ¼ Waist Measurement plus 1 ½ inches (dart and ease allowance). Connect K and P
using hip curve ruler.
15. B1P1 = ¼ Hip Measurement plus 1 inch for ease allowance. B1- B2 = ½ - ¾ inch.
Connect B1 and P1 with a straight line (back hemline) Connect B1 and P1 with a curve line
(front hemline).

Procedure: (Back)
1. AQ = ½ inch. Connect E and Q with a soft curve line to form the back neckline.
2. HR = ½ inch. KS = ½ inch. Connect GRS with a curve line using the French curve to
form the back armhole. Check from the armhole measurement.
3. Extend the dart in line with the K or 1 inch higher from L.
