A LETTER
FROM PRESIDENT MARTIN
Drake University’s Mission Statement is a promise - a promise that
we will do everything that we can as a University to prepare you
for “meaningful personal lives, professional accomplishments,
and responsible global citizenship.” That preparation is carried
out in a variety of activities and venues, from the classroom and
laboratory, to independent research, internships and study abroad,
to leadership roles in student organizations and on athletic teams.

In this context, Drake’s fraternities and sororities play a vital role


- for their members (who constitute 30% of the undergraduate
population), for the University as a whole, and for the community. Mission Statement

Beyond the confines of Drake’s campus, fraternity and sorority
members have made an equally powerful impact, raising many
thousands of dollars for, and donating thousands of hours to,
local charitable organizations - a powerful example of Drake’s
commitment to engaged citizenship and our responsibility for the
common good as a University community.

We are proud to have a robust and vital sorority and fraternity


presence at Drake University, and value greatly their contributions
of the fulfillment of the University’s mission.

KKΓ Sunday, September 11th. This is a great opportunity to meet all 7
fraternities. Students do not need to attend every day of formal
Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority recruitment; they can choose which days to attend based on their

of our 5 sororities and decide if joining is right for them. Informal
recruitment is held in the weeks after at the discretion of the chapters.
