Country: Canada
Tourism facts:
1. 80% of revenue derived from tourists.
2. Canada has the longest coastline of any country in the world at 243,977 kilometers –
151,600 miles.
3. They have beautiful Canadian festivals in different parts of the country.

PART B – Key Questions:

1. What are the potential pitfalls of indigenous tourism?


because there is contact between foreign tourists and Indigenous peoples cultural
authenticity can fade and be affected by foreign cultures . the ecological impact of
tourism. Anxiety is rooted in inexperience. Indigenous people are struggling with the
damage caused by campers and hikers. Rubbish and glass are left behind in ancient
and sacred sites. so the Indigenous community carefully wonders what to share with
Canada, and what to keep for themselves. In the eyes of tourists, Canada is a
beautiful place, but Canada has a dark history of colonialism. And the evidence from
this history endures to this day. Indigenous Canadians continue to experience
systemic marginalization, prejudice, and racism. so that the existence of indigenous
tourism will cause a change in the perspective of tourists towards Canada

2. Are indigenous people’s voices heard?


the request is still not able to cover some or all of the musty down to customs and the
government is still trying what else in this new prime minister era, the government is trying
very hard to raise the local population by creating several organizations that can help the
community in achieving his aspirations and also the government is very trying to do with it.

3. Why do people want to experience indigenous tourism?


Because people want to discover what indigenous tourism in Canada has like one of
an example experience in the Hotel-Musee Premieres-Nations offer the experience of
celebrates the area’s indigenous cultures that run by the Wendat tribe of the
Haudenosaunee people. The hotel also spoils the eyes of the tourists with the site
museum that has all aspects of the Huron-Wendat culture and a restaurant that
serves an experience of a dish with indigenous ingredients from their local lands. The
experience made people/tourists want to have that kind of experience again because
it is pampering and astonishing culture to feel the same experience again.

How do you personally see Tourism and Indigenous Culture? Do they support each other, or
one side will affect another side badly? Share your thoughts in a paragraph.

They are supporting each other,


Indigenous peoples, and their involvement with tourism has grown rapidly and tourism has
increased efforts to empower indigenous peoples to control their involvement in the
development of tourism so that they can raise the quality of life and increase opportunities
to show or to teach their culture to the outsider.
