“When Sulaiman bin Dawud finished building Baitil-Maqdis, he asked
Allah for three things: judgment that was in harmony with His
judgment, a dominion that no one after him would have, and that no
one should come to this mosque, intending only to pray there, but he
would emerge free of sin as the day his mother bore him.” The ﷺ
Prophet said: “Two prayers were granted, and I hope that the third
was also granted.”

Anas bin Malik narrated that the Messenger of Allah ﷺsaid:
"I was brought an animal that was larger than a donkey and
smaller than a mule, whose stride could reach as far as it could
see. I mounted it, and Jibril was with me, and I set off. Then he
said: 'Dismount and pray,' so I did that. He said: 'Do you know
where you have prayed? You have prayed in Taibah, which will be
the place of the emigration.' Then he said: 'Dismount and pray,'
so I prayed. He said: 'Do you know where you have prayed? You
have prayed in Mount Sinai, where Allah, the Mighty and Sublime,
spoke to Musa, peace be upon him.' So I dismounted and prayed,
and he said: 'Do you know where you have prayed? You have
prayed in Bethlehem, where 'Eisa, peace be upon him, was born.'
Then I entered Bait Al-Maqdis (Jerusalem) where the Prophets,
peace be upon them, were assembled for me, and Jibril brought
me forward to lead them in prayer.

Al-Aqsa Mosque is located in the southeast corner of the Old City of Jerusalem, covering one-sixth of its area. Al-Aqsa Mosque,
also referred to as Al-Haram Ash-Sharif (the Noble Sanctuary), comprises the entire area within the compound walls (a total area
of 144,000 m2) - including all the mosques,
prayer rooms, buildings, platforms and open courtyards located above or under the grounds - and exceeds 200 historical
monuments pertaining to various Islamic eras.
Messenger of Allah ﷺsaid:
"Then I entered Bait Al-Maqdis (Jerusalem) where the
Prophets, peace be upon them, were assembled for me, and
Jibril brought me forward to lead them in prayer.

angels every day, never to visit (this place) again.

“On the night on which I was taken on the Night Journey (Isra’), a beautiful fragrance came
The Prophet ( )ﷺsaid: "While I was walking in Paradise (on the night of to me. I said: O Jibreel, what is this beautiful fragrance? He said: This is the fragrance of
Mi'raj), I saw a river, on the two banks of which there were tents made the hairdresser of Pharaoh’s daughter and her children. I said: What is their story? He said:
of hollow pearls. I asked, "What is this, O Gabriel?' He said, 'That is the Whilst she was combing the hair of Pharaoh’s daughter one day, the iron comb fell from her

about that.’ She said: ‘Yes.’ So she told him and he summoned her and said: ‘O So and so, do
you have a Lord other than me?’ She said: ‘Yes, my Lord and your Lord is Allaah.’ He ordered

thrown into it in front of her, one by one, until they came to the last one who was an infant
boy who was still being breastfed. It was as if she wavered because of him, but he said: ‘O
mother, go ahead, for the punishment of this world is easier to bear than the punishment of
the hereafter.’ So she went ahead.”[Musnad Imam Ahmed]

When he came back to Makkah, the Prophet PBUH went back to sleep, and woke up in the Haram.
He said, "When I woke up the next morning, I felt an anxiety about how am I going to tell the people of what happened to me."
He then continued, "As I was sitting anxious, nervous and worried, Allah willed that the enemy of Allah, Abu Jahal, passed by and saw me in that
(grief-struck) state."
So Abu Jahal asked the Prophet PBUH in a sarcastic manner, "What is the matter with you? Has anything happened?" The Prophet PBUH said,
"Yes, something happened." "What?" "Last night, I was taken from here to Jerusalem." Abu Jahal was shocked, "And you are here amongst us now?!"
The Prophet PBUH said, "Yes, I am waking up amongst you here." So Abu Jahal said, "If I call your people will you tell them exactly what you have just told me?" The Prophet PBUH said,
"Yes, I will."
So Abu Jahal started screaming out to the people, "Come forth, we have an announcement to make!" Abu Jahal said, "Tell them what you promised you would tell them." So the Prophet
PBUH said, "Last night, I went to Bayt al-Maqdis and I prayed in Masjid al-Aqsa."
The people began reacting in different ways. Some began clapping, others put their hands on their heads, other began snickering and laughing. So one of them who has been to
Jerusalem before quizzed, "Can you describe it (Bayt al-Maqdis) for us. As they began to ask more and more, the Prophet PBUH said he got confused and became so worried and
anxious like never before that he couldn't respond. The word used is "kurba/ "كربmeaning literally terrified. Why is he terrified? Because it's a legitimate question but he can't
remember the answers to all of them.
He then said, as he was waiting for what to respond with, "I saw in the distance Bayt al-Maqdis rising up in front of me until it extended above the house of Aqil ibn Abi Talib (house he
grew up in i.e. the house that used to belong to Abu Talib)." Subhan'Allah! "And no question they asked of me except that I saw the Bayt al-Maqdis being shown in front of me (from
whichever angle I needed to see it), and I answered it fully." (Of course the Quraysh could not see it.) Until finally one of them said, "As for the description of Bayt al-Maqdis, he is
fully accurate."
Ibn Hisham narrates: At this time, the Prophet PBUH said, "I will give you some signs as well," and he mentioned the three caravans, "(1) One is the caravan of so and so, and they will
be returning soon, (2) one is the caravan of so and so, and they lost a camel, (3) one is the caravan of so and so, and they had a large urn of water that I drank from." Abu Jahal said, "If
you saw one of them in such and such a place, that caravan should be arriving in Makkah right now." And as they were discussing, the news arrives that the exact caravan is entering
Makkah. So Abu Jahal goes and sees - and it was exactly as the Prophet PBUH described. So he comes back and says, "This is clear sorcery.“[Night Journey by YQ] 24
WHEN the news reached Abu Bakr, which was before the
Prophet PBUH could tell Abu Bakr himself, one of the
Quraysh came running and said, "Do you know what
your companion has just said? He claims to have gone
all the way to Jerusalem and back. Two months journey,
in one night!" Abu Bakr replied, "If he said that, then it
must be true."
