1. Casualty Report
On Capt’s DOSCA JS, there is a menu for showing past incidents that occurred to vessels
under operation.

This menu is set ON status as default.


In order to set ON/OFF, click on [Useful Information] > place the mouse pointer over the
[Incident] menu > click on the [Casualty Report]

Incident locations will have a red color icon displayed.

The following types of incident icons are displayed on the Map:

Collision

Stranding

Sinking

Other

By placing the mouse pointer over the icon, an overview of the incident can be observed.

Click the [Detail…] button to check the incident details.

※The incident detailed information will be displayed in PDF format.

2. War Risk Insurance Area


On Capt’s DOSCA JS, there is a menu for showing area where war perils are excluded from
the ordinary marine cover on hull & machinery and for loss of hire, as well as from the
standard P&I cover.

Click [Useful Information] > place the mouse pointer over [Hazard Area] > click [War Risk
Insurance Area] > War Risk Insurance Area will be displayed on the map.

To confirm the area, place the mouse pointer over the [War Risk Insurance Area icon ],
and a pop-up overview of the target area will be displayed, along with the range of the area
shown in white.

※These areas will be updated as needed.

3. Other Areas
On Capt’s DOSCA JS, there is a menu for showing area which needs attention, such as
APC(Alternative Planning Criteria) required area by OPA90.

Click [Useful Information] > place the mouse pointer over [Hazard Area] > click [Other
Areas]
For example, APC required area will be displayed on the map.

To confirm the area, place the mouse pointer over the [Other Areas icon ], and a
pop-up overview of the target area will be displayed, along with the range of the area shown
in yellow.

※These areas will be updated as needed.

4. Master’s Wx Report(QRT)
On Capt’s DOSCA JS, there is a menu for showing NYK operated vessels’ noon position
and observed weather information. It is possible to refer to the weather information on the
QRT within the past 24-hour period for your requested area.

Click [Join & Share] > click [Master’s Wx Report (QRT)]


Position and courses of vessels underway will be displayed on the map.
Three types of data are displayed for each vessel: wind speed and direction, wave direction,
ocean currents flow direction.
By clicking on [Wind], [Wave] or [Current] on the menu, each of these data can be
displayed or turned off.

Also, by placing the mouse pointer over a specific vessel, it is possible to check for
more/detailed information.

5. SIMS
On Capt’s DOSCA JS, there is a menu for showing NYK operated vessels’ SIMS observed
information. It is possible to refer to the weather information on the SIMS within the past
6-hour period for your requested area.

Click [Join & Share] > click [SIMS]


Position and courses of vessels underway will be displayed on the map.
Two types of data are displayed for each vessel: wind speed and direction, ocean currents
flow direction.
By clicking on [Wind] or [Current] on the menu, each of these data can be displayed or
turned off.

Also, by placing the mouse pointer over a specific vessel, it is possible to check for
more/detailed information.

It is calculated from the following vector calculation formula.

Calculated Current = OG Speed – LOG Speed

6. Helpful Report
During voyage, there is a menu to reference useful information reported by other vessels.
For the area a Weather request is desired, it is possible to reference information for within
the past 24-hour period.

Click [Join & Share] > click [Helpful Report] > a DOSCA icon will be displayed of the
vessel that sent information within the past 24-hour period.

To check the specific vessel, place the mouse pointer over the [COSCA icon ], and an
overview of the information will be displayed on a pop-up.

To check below categorized information on a pop-up.

・Weather (Visibility / Wave / Wind)


・Traffic
・Current
・Others*

※Please check weather forecast data and the information from public institutions etc.

When the information from other Captains is useful, click the [Thanks !!] button. The
number of “Thanks” (hits), can be observed the next time of receipt of the subsequent
weather data.

7. Input Helpful Report


During voyage, there is a menu to report useful information for safe operation to other vessel
Captains.

Click [Join & Share] > click [Input Helpful Report] > Open the below browser. (*When PC
is connecting to the Internet only)

1-1 For “Weather”

Normal

+select 16 directions

Input “Position” and input in “More Inform”

2. After inputting the above Category, input “Position” and “More Inform”.

2-1 Position

Input the time and position when the observation was made on the below form.

2-2 More Inform (Input is not required)

To report more detailed information, or if there is other information not applicable to the
above categories, input in the “More Detail” field of the form below. Attach photos of the
observed information or relevant photos of other information.

After inputting, click [Submit].


Then confirmation page will be appeared as below.

Please click on the [Back] button if you want to modify an item.


If it is OK, please click on the [Send] button.

※Note
Due to security reasons, Capt’s DOSCA JS contents are not displayed until weather data is received
and restart.

・After Capt’s DOSCA JS version is initially installed, Join & Share contents are not displayed until
weather data is received and restart.

・Join & Share contents are not displayed when weather data has not been received for 30 days.

・Join & Share contents are not displayed when weather data has been deleted by *Reset DOSCA.
(*Please refer to Operation Manual p.56 Q11)

When the latest weather data is received, the contents of Capt’s DOSCA JS may be utilized after
restart.
