Assignment 3: Prototyping Tool

Due July 16th,2022

Goal:

Prototyping is an essential part of the UI and UX design process. Designers can create
either a high or low-fidelity prototype depending on their goals, allowing them to test a
feature, application, or website. The aim of prototyping is to test ideas before fully
developing them and design a better user experience.

The goal of this assignment is to select, evaluate, and use a prototyping tool and write a
short report on it.

List of possible prototyping tools to evaluate:

1. Apple Keynote with Keynotopia,


2. Adobe XD
3. Origami
4. Axure
5. Balsamiq
6. Atomic
7. Principle
8. Sketchapp
9. Webflow
10. Figma

Be thorough. Download a free trial version of any prototyping tool, try it, evaluate it,
read the evaluation report, use it to build a storyboard of your app from assignment # 2
then write your report describing pros and cons of the tool.

Grading Scheme for Assignment #3: Usability Testing Tools


1. Select a prototyping tool, and describe it briefly. /5
2. List 4-6 evaluation criteria for selecting a prototyping tool and explain why /10
they are important.
3. Describe 10 pros and cons of the selected tool using screenshots. /15
4. Walkthrough at least one of the scenarios you developed in assignment # 2 /10
and create a storyboard or 4 screenshots of the interface showing how a
user's needs can be handled by the interface.
5. Correctness, completeness, and clarity /5
6. Language (Spelling, grammar mistakes and typos) /5
