INTRODUCTION
Scope
This procedure is applicable to the stores department of K.G. hospital.

Purpose
This procedure defines the various activities at the stores at
hospital.

JOB DESCRIPTION OF PERSONNEL

SUPERVISOR

 Has authority to allot work personnel in the department.


 Should request for resources like manpower &equipment on the
need basis.
 Provide assessment of personnel in the department.
 Should inform to higher authority in case of any wasting articles in
the department.
 Should replace all condemn articles after setting approval for the
item.
 Maintain proper co-ordination with para-medical operation,
theatre, Icu’s.
 Should train the personnel in the department when required.
 Maintain all register update.

SENIOR SUPERVISOR

 They must do the routine work like repairing damages, linen packs,
operating stretcher, preparing sterile gloves.
 Should go on rounds various department to check for sterile item.
 Should clean & wash the sterile and other equipment.
 Should perform additional duties and responsibilities assigned by
the immediate supervisor from the to time.
 When the thermometer falls below 70c set the operating in off
position & open the champers door.
 Check the sterilization process the control integrated shall be
checked by the supervisor senior technician for the optimum color
change and should right in the steam.

JUNIOR TECHNICIAN

 Should do routine work, preparing dressing tray, inner pack,


operating things, preparing sterile gloves.
 Incase of any problem observed in the equipment the same should
be informed to the supervisor (or) senior technician.
 Incase of any breakage of articles should inform to the supervisor.
 Should clean equipment and sterilize perform additional duties
assigned by inheridate super vision from time to time.

SUPERINTENDENT

JOB SUMMARY

Nursing superintendent is accountable for safe and efficient running of


the various nursing departments in the hospital.

She is assisted in carrying out her duties by the deputy assistant


nursing superintendent, ward supervisor and domestic staff.

NURSING SERVICE

 Participate in the formulation of philosophy of the hospital.


 Determines goals, aims, objectives, and policies of the nursing
service.
 Decides and recommend personnel and material requirements for
nursing various nursing service departments of the hospital.
 Interview the security and nursing staffs.
 Ensure the safety and efficient care rendered in various nursing
department of the hospital.
 Make regular visits in the hospital.
 Select and ensure the proper equipments needed for the hospital.
 Prepare duty routine, plan staff leave & distributes salary.
 Participate in hospital and inter hospital meetings.
 Investigate complaints and take necessary steps.
 Plans staff development programs and arrange for in service
education.
 Inspect hospital kitchen &dietary services of the hospital.

GENERAL AND OFFICE DUTIES

 Attends to general correspondence.


 Maintenance necessary records concerning the nursing staff,
students, confidential reports, health reports etc.
 Submits annual reports of the nursing service department to
medical superintendent Inc and nursing registration council.
 Participate in professional community activities.
 Maintain coordinal relations with public voluntary workers.

JOB DESCRIPTION

TUTORS
ADMINISTRATION
The tutor is overall in charge of the development and there by
responsible for administration teaching activity and guidance of that
particular department. Participating in determination of educational
purpose four policies. Contributes the development and implementation
of the philosophy.

INSTRUCTION
 Identifying the needs of learners.
 Develops plan for learning experience.

EVALUATING LEARNERS PROGRESS


 Recognize individual difference in appraising the learners
progress.
 Participate in staff evaluation of learner’s progress.
 Help learners for self evaluation uses appropriate devices for
evaluation.

CLINICAL INSTRUCTOR

She is responsible for planning and implementation of teaching


programmer and assist in administration of school of nursing.
JOB DESCRIPTION OF SENIOR NURSE
 Responsible for handing over and taking area of patients.
 Assign junior staff to each patient according to head.
 Supervise the role performed by staff nurse.
 Maintain personal hygienic and safe environment in ICU for the
patient.
 Give comprehensive care including doctor order.
 Responsible for clinical teaching.
 Maintain proper procedure for admission, transfer and discharge.
 Responsible for complete cleanliness of the department.

JOB DESCRIPTION OF STAFF NURSE


 Taking handing over of their patient from senior nurse / nurse
manager.
 Responsible for personal hygienic of patient (mouth care,
sponging, etc.)
 Prepare /send and get results of investigation and inform doctors.
 Administration of medication right close and time.
 Guide and supervise the students nurse accompanies with her.
 Informing the procedure of transferring and discharge.
JOB DESCRIPTION OF NURSING
MANAGER
 Regular evaluating and arrangement of personnel in ICU and
submit to nursing superintendent.
 Check the attendances and see the duty allotment after obtaining
approval from immediate head.
 Take notes while rounds each patient his / her complaints.
 Maintain the rounds nursing care for patients.
 Man power shortage if any must be brought to the knowledge of
immediate head.
 If any emergency surgery required for any patient then do all the
required formalities.
 Ensure that senior staff nurse accompanies the patient for safe
transportation and proper handling of patient.
 Check the equipments every day and ensure their function
correctly.
 Allot the patient as per the need.
 Interaction with consultants and hospital management for effective
nursing administration.
 Damage and condemned article must brought to the knowledge of
responsible person and get replacement.
 Maintain attendance register, stock book, formal register properly
and up to date.

In providing patient care different assignment care given to nurses,
functional task assignment, patient assignment (or) team of varied level
of nursing personnel are assigned to look after a group of patients.
Nursing team leader plans the nursing care and assigns the task
according to preparation of each member and she herself coordinates all
the given to the patient method used is based on the philosophy of the
hospital whether the nursing to be patient centered (or) administrator
centered (or) doctor centered.

To ensure 13 nurses the team consists of six professional nurses 9


mixes of 14 auxiliary nurses, student and aids. In addition requirement
would be for administrator training staff.
