Personal Staement Example 1
I am very interested in becoming a student at your university applying for BA (Hons) in Business
Management with Foundation Year.
As a young child living with my mother and sister on the edge of poverty, money has always been
the most important thing. How my days went depended on how much money I had or didn't have.
Since I was a naturally curious child, I decided that the best thing for me to do would be to learn
how money moves around: where it comes from, where it goes, how to make it, and how to spend
it wisely. This led me to study business. Business management means putting into practice
everything I am interested in, like the growth, maintenance, and development of a company,
healthy competition, hard work, and determination, as well as things I'm naturally good at, like
being a leader, making tough decisions, analysing my thoughts thoroughly, and working as a team.
Since I was a teenager, these things have shaped and changed the way I live my life. They will
also make sure that my later years go as well as I planned.
I would like to point out that I already have some work experience, which is very important to me.
I've had the chance to work at a company that sells furniture for the last three years. There, I was
able to get a close look at how the different parts of a big company work together. From my point of
view, these activities are very important because they give students the chance to find new things
they like, work together as a team, and, of course, meet new people who like the same things they
do. The fact that people from all over the world go to universities in the UK is another very
important thing about them. This is a good thing because the students learn about and understand
different religions and cultures and also get over their biases. Because the universities in the UK
are so good, I would benefit from going there to study. I have a wide range of skills, such as (list
transferable skills from current or recent roles), and I think I could make a big difference in helping
your company achieve (list key goals of the role you are applying for). Even though my current job
isn't directly related to your industry, I've taken (list courses you've taken) where I learned (list core
skills for the role) and have a strong desire to make a long-term career in the field.
I’m confident that my recent work experience combined with transferable skills will allow me to
perform well as a student.
