RDRRMCs

- Regional Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Councils

- responsible in ensuring disaster sensitive regional development plans, and


in case of emergencies shall convene the different regional line agencies
and concerned institutions and authorities

- must establish Regional Disaster Risk Reduction and Management


Operations Center (RDRRMOC) whenever necessary

- also coordinate, integrate, supervise, and evaluate the activities of the

- Local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Councils

- At local level, Provincial, City, and Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and
Management Councils and the Barangay Development Councils (BDCs)
serve as the LDRRMCs.
Functions of LDRRMCs

LDRRMO and BDRRMC

- Local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (LDRRMO)

- “There shall be established an LDRRMO in every province, city and


municipality, and a Barangay Disaster Risk Reduction and Management
Committee (BDRRMC) in every barangay which shall be responsible for
setting the direction, development, implementation and coordination of
disaster risk management programs within their territorial jurisdiction”
(Section 12a)

- National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Plan

- a road map on how DRRM shall contribute to gender-responsive and


rights-based sustainable development

- promote inclusive growth, build the adaptive capacities of communities,


increase the resilience of vulnerable sectors, and optimize disaster
mitigation opportunities with the end in view of promoting people's
welfare and security.
