TANA PRESIDENT'S SPECIAL AWARD

DR. RAMESH KONDA


Dr. Ramesh Konda is a multi-talented individual as he had achieved success and recognitions in his education, professional career, and volunteer activities. Currently, he is working as a Director of IT at Bankrate, Inc. While maintaining his full-time job, he is also working at International Technological University as an Adjunct Professor, and volunteering as Deputy Regional Director for American Society for Quality (ASQ), and serving on editorial board of International Journal of Quality & Reliability. A few years ago, ASQ Board of Directors elected Ramesh as a Fellow of ASQ in recognition of his outstanding contributions in the field of Quality. ASQ Fellow status is one of ASQ's highest honors. Ramesh received his Bachelors of Engineering degree with First class with distinction. During his MBA, he had obtained 4.0/4.0 GPA, and was listed in his college's President's List. Also, he received Master's in Industrial Engineering and Ph.D. in Computer Information Systems. He has authored eight technical papers so far that were published at national and international journals/conferences. He has produced three M.B.A. graduates so far part of his work at the University. Ramesh received "Certification of Appreciation" from the Governor of State of Nebraska and Governor of State of Michigan for being an examiner of respective state's Quality award programs. He had received "Best of the Best" award from General Motor's Chairman's Council for successfully leading GM's plant for ISO 9000 registration. Also, he had received "Best Team Player" award from GM Quality Network council. On professional volunteering side, Ramesh had worked as Web-Master, Secretary, Chair-Elect, and Chair of ASQ Silicon Valley section (this section is one of the top 5 largest sections of ASQ in the US). Also, he worked as Seminars Chair, and Vice-Chair/Chair-Elect of ASQ Nebraska section. Under his leadership, he successfully organized ASQ Silicon Valley annual conferences in 2009 and 2010. Additionally, Ramesh also actively involved in community services. He worked as Treasurer and President of Telugu Association of Minnesota. Also, he worked as Marketing Chair, Joint-Secretary, Treasurer, and Secretary of Bay Area Telugu Association. He worked as Marketing Chair of 18th Conference of Telugu Association of North America (TANA). Ramesh had participated in marathons to raise funds for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and Sankara Eye Foundation.
