August 19.2022

The Honorable John Fetterman

Lieutenant Governor
Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
Room 200, Main Capitol Building
Harrisburg. PA 17120

Dear Lieutenant Governor Fetterman.

1am pleased that your health has continued to improve to the point that you can now make public
appearances such as your campaign stop last Friday in Erie. I'm certain that our entire Senate family joins
me in wishing you all the best as you continue with your recovery.

On July 26.1 sent a letter to your office requesting your testimony in relation to potential improvements
to Pennsylvania's laws governing disabilities of the Governor and Lt. Governor. In addition. I also
requested that you voluntarily produce any communications transmitted to the Governor's Office in the
immediate aftermath of your hospitalization on May 13. including the timing and means of notification,
as this information would be instructive to the committee's review of this legislative issue.

To date, we have not received a response to this inquiry.

As Chair of the Senate State Government Committee. I again ask that you submit the relevant
documentation to the committee and advise us of your availability to share your perspective on this
critical issue during a public hearing on a date and time of your choosing prior to our return to session on
September 19.

I request a response to this inquiry no later than August 26 so we can make the proper arrangements to
receive your testimony. Again, we would be happy to receive your testimony via Zoom in order to make
the process as convenient as possible and not interfere in your rehabilitation and yourother
responsibilities.

This subject matter is of immense importance to our Commonwealth, as maintaining continuity of

government has never been more important. 1look forward to \our reply and will continue to pray for
your full and complete recovery in the weeks and months ahead.

incerely.
