OBJECTIVE

Adapted and used culturally appropriate teaching strategies


to address the needs of learners from indigenous groups
Below is an assessment activity for a class of 30 learners, five of which belong to an indigenous
peoples (IP) group.

Evaluate the appropriateness of the activity for your learners. Write your response in this
form.

The activity given to the learners is to perform individually on Microsoft offices application; the
materials used in individual hands-on on the said activity are according to the available resources found
at home or in the community. In this activity, the learners can perform the competency very well
because they are given choices in which they asked help for in demonstrating the given task based on
the availability of resources that can be found at home or in the community. (Activity can be found in the
lesson plan)
Do the following:
1. In the context of addressing gifted learners and talented, do you agree with the comments given? Write
your reflections in this form.
2. Based on your reflection, design a Learning Action Cell (LAC) plan to assist your colleagues in
designing, adapting, and implementing teaching strategies for gifted learners. Attach your LAC plan
here.
YOUR REFLECTIONS

This activity is very much effective for different kinds of learners since they are given the option of
how to perform and demonstrate the task. In this case, there are no students left behind on the activity
since they are given ample time to perform and the ingredients to be used are based on the availability in
the community and at home.

Design a lesson plan for your class that integrates aspects of indigenous peoples (IP) culture
using national mandates on indigenous people education (IPEd) as reference:
 Republic Act No. 8371 or the Indigenous People’s Rights Act of 1997
 DepEd Order No. 62, S. 2011 or the Adopting the National Indigenous Peoples (IP) Education
Policy
 Framework
 DepEd Order No. 32, S. 2015 or the Adopting the Indigenous Peoples (IP) Education Curriculum
Framework

The integration of IP culture in the lesson plan must be highlighted and annotated in this
reflection form.

YOUR ANNOTATIONS
In this lesson, the student’s ability and skills will be seen through their actual application and
demonstration of competency, the learners will showcase their understanding of the topic at home based
on the procedure and criteria given, and they will give a recorded video of their performance to the
teacher since they cannot perform at school because of the limited new normal time allotment of the
subject. Through this activity, the learners are given the option of what kind of gadgets they are going to
use in hands-on exercise based on the available resources in the community and at home.

I. Objectives At the end of the week, the learner shall be able to:
Knowledge o Identify ways to create and open workbooks;
o Differentiate the steps in creating and opening workbooks,

Attitude o Value the importance of knowing the ways to create and open
workbooks

III. Procedure
A. Review Ask the students about the previous lesson on the computer basics
and also that deals with the Microsoft Excel Overview and
Environment.
B. Motivation Motivation: Picture Analysis
The learner will analyze and show understanding on the picture to be
presented.

From the two common applications the Microsoft Word and Microsoft
Excel, let the students differentiate its features and functions.
C. Activity INDIVIDUAL HANDS-ON EXERCISE
 Let the students identify ways to create and open workbooks;

Activity 1. True or False:

Write Correct if the statement is True and Wrong if the statement is


False.
1. By default, Excel auto saves every 20 minutes.
2. It's easy to export your workbook from Excel in a variety of file
types.
3. If you want to save a different version of a workbook while
keeping the original, you can create a copy.
4. It's important to save your workbook whenever you start a new
project or make changes to an existing one.
Whenever you start a new project in Excel, you'll need to
create a new workbook.
E. Abstraction 1. The teacher will have a simple review on the past lesson through
question and answer leading to wrap up the activities.
2. The learner will answer the HOTS question as follows:
 How do you differentiate Microsoft Word from Microsoft Excel?
 How can this Microsoft Application help in solving real-life
problems or in making conclusions and decisions?
F. Application Individual Practice:
Using a computer, let the students perform individually on how to
create, open, save and share workbooks.

G. Assessment The students will be graded according to the rubrics given


IV. Assignment In a bond paper, draw and label the Microsoft Excel Environment.
V. Reflection The students know the importance of knowing the ways to create and
open workbooks which will later use in real life.
