Treatment Product Description

Costar Dampmaster 20
Costar Dampmaster 20 is water based injection silane which
when injected into the mortar course, it diffuses within the damp
wall to form a Damp Proof Course (DPC), will allow the wall to
dry and block future rising damp.

Costar 2k
Costar 2k is a two-component waterproong membrane with
tough-elastic properties suitable for both positive and negative
side waterproong of interior and exterior concrete and masonry
surfaces.

Costar Wall Putty

Costar wall putty is specially developed as a base coat to provide
smooth nish on plastered surface, and hence ideal for paint
application because paint saving can be up to 50%. It contains
nest quality minerals, polymers, white cement and pigments. It
particularly offers protective against wind rain when used for
external application.

5. INVESTIGATION
Proper investigation should be carried out to nd out concrete, plaster or block substrates are sound and of sufcient a
minimum pull off strength of 1.5N/mm2.

6. APPLICATION METHOD/TOOLS
6.1 SUBSTRATE PREPARATION
Ÿ Remove paint and plaster.
Ÿ Redress the surface after removal of paint and plaster.

6.2 Application of Costar 2k (Flexible Cementitious Waterproong Coating)

Ÿ Mix Part A with Part B of Costar 2K with a mechanical mixer.
Ÿ Apply Costar 2k with a roller, spraying equipment or serrated trowel on the concrete surface.
Ÿ Apply the second coat in the opposite direction immediately after the rst coat.

6.3 Application of Screed with Hydropruf 300

Ÿ Mix Hydropruf 300 with mortar at 250ml to 500 ml per 50kg bag of cement. ( See method statement for detailed
application procedure)
Ÿ Screed on the wall and allow to set.

6.4 Application of Costar Wall Putty (Used on walls where there was POP)
Ÿ Mix Costar Wall Putty with measured water depending on the desired thickness.
Ÿ Apply Costar Wall Putty in a uniform layer on the substrate with an iron trowel.
Ÿ After drying, polish the surface with an abrasive paper.
Ÿ Use prepared mass within approx. 40 - 60 minutes since its preparation.

ALTERNATIVE TREATMENT

6.5 SUBSTRATE PREPARATION

Where required, remove skirting boards and/or render/plaster to identify and expose the original masonry and the
appropriate mortar course to be treated. Measure the thickness of each wall to be treated. Set the depth gauge of the drill or
apply tape to the drill bit in order to identify the correct drilling depth.

6.6 Application of Costar Dampmaster 20/10

Ÿ Insert the delivery tube of the application gun into the full depth of the pre-drilled hole.
Ÿ Squeeze the gun trigger and back ll each hole fully with Costar Dampmaster 20/10 within 1 cm of the surface.
Ÿ When treating cavity walls from one side, ll the holes completely in each side wall.
Ÿ Plug or ll and point over all drilled holes using appropriate Costar mortars.
Ÿ Simply brush off white surface stains when dry.

6.7 Application of Costar 2k (Flexible Cementitious Waterproong Coating)

Ÿ Scrape off existing paint on wall.

6.8 Application of Costar Wall Putty ( Used on walls where there was POP)
Ÿ Mix Costar Wall Putty with measured water depending on the desired thickness.
Ÿ Apply Costar Wall Putty in a uniform layer on the substrate with an iron trowel.
Ÿ After drying, polish the surface with an abrasive paper.
Ÿ Use prepared mass within approx. 40 - 60 minutes since its preparation.

7. INSPECTION, QUALITY CONTROL

As part of “Good Practice” the contractor shall apply an inspection procedure to check the quality of the applied
