avoid them to rotate.

3.5. VOLTAGE ADJUSTMENT

On the XRII of the Radiological Imaging Unit, the U3 voltage allows to zoom the image by
varying the portion of the input screen that is projected onto the output screen : the higher the
U3 voltage, the smaller the portion of the input screen that is projected, i.e. the larger the
magnification. The U2 voltage is the focusing voltage and the U1 voltage permits to adjust the
resolution uniformity throughout the whole image field. Both the TH 7195–1 and the
TH 7195–3 enable the use of three XRII fields but the maximum allowed voltages are different
on the two types.
The single field Radiological Imaging Units (TH 59429 ...) use a TH 7195-1 : on this model, the
U3 voltage has been limited at 5 kV.
The triple field Radiological Imaging Units (TH 59428 ...) use a TH 7195-3 : on this model, the
U3 voltage has been limited at 13 kV.
The HVPS you have received has been pre-adjusted in our factory : the three voltages, for each
mode, have been set at fixed values. To be suited to your Radiological Imaging Unit, these
voltages have to be adjusted at the right values.
Three encoders on the side of the TH 7195 allows to adjust the U1, U2 and U3 voltages for each
mode.

For this adjustment, you will need a voltmeter with an input impedance higher than or equal to
10 MΩ. Seven test points are available in front of the HVPS and provide a low voltage
proportional to the five electrode voltages, as well as the photocathode and getter currents.
The voltmeter will be used to measure the low voltages on TP1, TP2 and TP3 (the reference for
these voltages is the ground).

ΠSet the switch 1, on the side of the HVPS, to OFF to unlock the voltages.

A hole on the top cover of the camera, focus, allows to adjust the mechanical focusing.
For this adjustment, it is necessary to use a lead pattern as described in the U2 voltage final
adjustment chapter (HVPS replacement).

4.7. CONTROL OF THE IMAGE QUALITY

(1) The analog ABC voltage will be close to 6 V and the two ABC digital outputs will be at the
low level for a video signal into the measuring window of :
- 10 % of the CCD saturation level, if the set-point 1 is selected ;
- 20 % of the CCD saturation level, if the set-point 2 is selected ;
party without the prior consent of THALES ELECTRON DEVICES

(2) If the set-point 1 is selected :

- the ABC+ output will goes up for a video level of 13 % of the CCD saturation level ;
- the ABC- output will goes up for a video level of 7 % of the CCD saturation level ;
If the set-point 2 is selected :
- the ABC+ output will goes up for a video level of 23 % of the CCD saturation level ;
- the ABC- output will goes up for a video level of 17 % of the CCD saturation level ;
(3) On the video AFTER digital output, for gamma = 0.6, in AGC mode.
(4) Video signal, including the black level, on the video AFTER digital output, for gamma = 0.6
and for a video level of 10 % of the CCD saturation level.
