    Cholistan Desert and Jeep Rally:

    If you are fond of exploring the historic and cultural sites, love to do camping and experience some
    unusual surroundings then you must visit Cholistan desert, Pakistan in winter season. It is located in the
    southern Punjab and adjoins Sindh province. It is one of the largest desert in Pakistan and also some
    part lies in India. It is a barren desert and most of the surface is formed due to the sand dunes. Its
    temperature lies between 2 degrees to 40 degrees centigrade. It has the ruins of the ancient civilization
    and still now have some of the inhabitants there.

    It is the center of attraction for the tourist who love seeing other than the greener landscapes. It has the
    cultural and historic sites like Derawar Fort, Dodhla Forest and shrines of Channan Pir. The most exciting
    thing about the Cholistan desert tour is the jeep rally that is organized once a year and people travel
    miles to attend it. There are almost 100 racers that come around from Pakistan to participate and there
    are almost 100, 000 spectators that come from around the world to witness this exciting event. This rally
    is organized by PTDC annually to show the world about the history and rich culture of this place. It is the
    winter tourist destination that invite the motorsports enthusiasts to showcase their talent to the world.

    Tourist from different countries come to enjoy this exciting event which portrays the soft image of
    Pakistan in the world. Locals of this area also get entertained to this event as they do not have such
    festivals in their locality. Rally starts from the Derawar Fort and usually covers Dingarh Fort, Marrot
    Fort, Khan Garh, Bhijnot Fort, Moujgarh Fort and Jamgarh Fort. It is approximately 500 km long. Jeep
    rally is full of excitement, thrill and sensation, tourist enjoy this unusual experience and also visit other
    attractions of the desert like Desert Safari, cultural night, laser light show, camel ride, camping stay in
    desert. Sightseeing tour in the city of Palaces, Bahawalpur etc.

    When you plan to visit and explore Cholistan desert, you can book a hotel in Bahawalpur and can visit
    some places like Noor mehal there. Can spend a night or two camping in the desert. There is a bazaar in
    which the tourist can shop for the handicrafts and mementoes as a gifts or for keeping as a memory of
    their visit.
