Guidelines at Ramaneswaram

• Only Traditional wear is allowed during abhishek pooja. Dhotis are


provided at the ashram for gents.

• Taking photographs is permitted. Use of mobile phones are


allowed subject to capturing photographs only.

• Maintain silence inside the premises of the temple.

• Devotees are requested to be courteous with volunteers who


will assist with queries.

• Consumption of Alcohol, tobacco, cigarettes, narcotic drugs and


non-veg inside the temple premises is strictly prohibited.

ABOUT THE FOUNDER

Siddhaguru® Sri Ramanananda Maharshi is a spiritual master, a


public-spirited and a selfless spiritual Guru possessing the quali-ties of

the divine, love and benevolence. He believes in engaging people with


God is a real social consciousness. On 29th June 1995, He entered a
twenty-one-day period of silence (Samadhi) in Kanakadurga temple of
Kurnool in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh.
ATTRACTIONS
Grama Devatas (Village Deities)

Ramaneswaram is embellished with 4 major Village deities Maremma,


Yellamma, Poleramma,and Pochamma who protect this temple town and fulfill
the wishes of the devotees. Once a devotee enters the Outer main gate of the
temple; he or she should have a darshan of 4 Grama devatas consecrated here at 
Ramaneswaram and offer abhishekam to these deities and enter Mukha
dwaram of the temple.
SHIVA-SHAKTHI-SAI
DARBAR

On the right of the inner temple arch is the Shiva-Shakthi-Sai darbar,


regarded as the soul of Ramaneswaram symbolizing  the vision of this
temple town. Visitors can have darshan of Adi Parashakthi,Yoga Rudra,
Navadurgas and other deities. This is the second place to visit after
darshan of village deities temples.
SAHASRA
SHIVA LINGAS TEMPLE

The benefits of Shiva Sahasranama Stotra are identified by Siddhaguru and


penned a script that resulted in the consecration of 1008 Shiva Lingams here at
Ramaneswaram. Visitors on the right and left of Shiva-Shakthi-Sai darbar can
have darshan of 1008 Shiva Llingams consecrated in 12 sannidhanams with 1008
Lord Shiva names.
Each sannidhanam has Shirdi Sai baba idols consecrated along with
Shivalingams. The darshan, sparshan (touch) of 1008 Shiva lingas with 1008
appellations of Lord Shiva (Shiva Sahasra Naam) consecrated HERE let you free
from difficulties of life and predominantly from the cycle of birth and death.

SWARNA SHIVA
LINGAM

The main attraction of Ramaneswaram is Swarna (Gold) Shiva Lingam


temple. The world’s first of its kind- 3 feet in height and weighing around 250
Kgs, is specially consecrated by his holiness Siddhaguru Ramanananda
Maharshi for fulfilling the materialistic and spiritual desires of devotees.
Devotees can perform abhishekam to this Shiva Lingam chanting “OM
ATHARVASHIRSHAYA NAMAHA ”.
TRIAMBAKESWAR
SAI

Adjacent to Golden Shivalingam Darbar, one can have a darshan of


Traimbaka sai surrounded by 100 Veda Shiva Lingams. Here, the
darshan of Shirdi Sai Baba will bless you with wealth and prosperity.
SHIVA SHAKTHI SAI
DHUNI

Right opposite Triambakeshwar Sai Darbar, one can have darshan of


Shiva-Shakthi-Sai Dhuni surround by 30 Shiva Lingams consecreated
with 30 names of Lord Shiva of Shiva Sahasra Naam. Wishes not
fulfilled for a long time are fulfilled here by offering sticks, coconut and
Navadhanya. This is the place of Karmic destruction. Visitors should
perform Pradakshina 108 times around it. for fulfilling their wish.
DWADASA
JYOTIRLINGAS

Visitors after darshan of Dhuni will walk straight to the Upasani Baba
Darbar. Here, they can have darshan of 12 Jyotirlingas in one shrine,
along with Shiva Lingams consecrated in the name of Upasani yogi's 24
Kanyas. Visitors can perform Abhisekam to 12 Jyotirlingas at a time by
paying a minimal amount.
UPASANI MAHARAJ
DARBAR

Adjacent to Jyotirlingas, a 16 feet Monolith Bana Shiva Lingam was


consecrated in the name of Upasani Maharaj (Sakori), a great disciple
of Shirdi Sai Baba, followed by HIS idol and 24 Shiva Lingams in the
name of Upasani Kanyas.
ANANDA - TEERTHAM

Adjacent to Dwadasa Jyotirlingas Shrine, visitors can have darshan of


Ananda Teertham, where Shiva Lingams and 30 feet Akasha Shiva-
Lingam are placed in water. These Shiva Lingams are surrounded by 28
Shiva Lingams in the name of 28 stars each, 9 Navagraha Shiva Lingams,
12 Shiva Lingams in the name of 12 Zodiac signs. Visitors are not allowed
for holy bath in Ananda Teertham.
PARVATHI - PARMESWAR
DARBAR

Visitors can have darshan of Goddess Parvathi and Lord Rudra in this
sannidhanam. The speciality of this darbar is 6 feet Shiva Lingam
consecrated in the name of Late Sri Purnananda Giri Yogini, who was the
living guru of Siddhaguru Sri Ramanananda Maharshi.
VEDARISHI
SHIVA LINGAMS

His holiness Siddhaguru Sri Ramanananda Maharshi designed this


“2016 Veda Rishi Shiva Lingams Consecration project” for the temple
town of Ramaneswaram. 2016 Veda Rishi Shiva Lingams are
dedicated to the names of each Veda Rishi as part of this effort.The
main temple is surrounded by Veda Rishi Shiva Lingams, which
exhibit their reverence and devotion to Lord Shiva.
VEDARISHI
SHIVA LINGAMS

The Shiva lingams are placed according to Veda Rishi’s family heritage. A
sannidhanam is allotted and dedicated to each Veda Rishi family. Until now,
251 Veda Rishi Shiva Lingams are consecrated in 11 Sannidhanams, along
with deities and various Yogis idols. Within their lineage, each
sannidhanam is given the name of the family head.
23 FEET MONOLITH BANA
SHIVA LINGAM

Adjacent to Parvathi-Parmeshwar Darbar, one can have a darshan of 23 feet


naturally born Monolith Bana Shiva Lingam imported from Bakawa in Barwah
Tehsil in Khargone District of Madhya Pradesh State and consecrated in 2018 here
at Ramaneswaram.
Significance of Bana Shivalingam :
Bana Shiva Lingam is the Shivaling of the highest order out of various types of
Shiva Lingams being worshipped in this World. Knowing the power of Bana Shiva
Lingam through his transcendental vision, Siddhaguru Sri Ramanananda
Maharshi consecrated numerous Bana Shiva Lingams in this divine town. 23 feet
Bana Shiva Lingam consecrated as ‘Ramana Sai lingeswara’ . This is the tallest
monolithic Bana Shiva Lingam.
GOSHALA

Siddhaguru Sri Ramanananda Maharshi started goshala in the year 2015 at


Ramaneswaram. to nurture and protect cows. Goshala and cows are an integral
part of Mahapeetam and their upkeep is one of the prime activities undertaken
here. Panchgavya, the five products received from the cow - milk, ghee, yogurt,
dung, cow urine are used in the daily abhishekam and other ritualistic
ceremonies performed at Ramaneswaram. Sacred ash or vibhuti extracted from
cow dung is used in daily Shiva abhishekam. There are 250 plus cows in Goshala
till date.
