ART / ARTWORKS
Answer 1
Yes I do, I love visual arts, especially fine arts and decorative arts. Well, I’ve collected
some pieces of abstract art since I’m mesmerized by the beauty of it – it does fire my
imagination interpreting the meaning and comprehending the emotion of the artist that
is depicted on the masterpiece. I also enjoy keeping some ceramics, pottery, and mosaic
art at home.
Answer 2
Yes, I’ve had a deep-rooted admiration for art since I was a grader, I love different
forms of art, for me, it’s like food for the soul. Actually, I was an active member of an
art club during my primary and high school days and it really helped me develop my
prowess in painting. Well, these days, I’ve cultivated a new hobby which is sculpting,
and I find it fascinating and satisfying.

answer by telling the examiner that he started one kind of hobby that’s related to art. It’s a good way to wrap up his
answer and at the same time showcasing his vocabulary knowledge about art.
Answer 1
Absolutely! I’ve been to several art galleries in different countries. I’ve visited the Red
Gate gallery in Beijing, the National Gallery in London, the Art Gallery in Western
Australia, and the Mori Building Digital Art Museum in Tokyo. Of all those art galleries,
the digital art museum in Tokyo is my favorite because it’s futuristic, extraordinary,
creative, and dreamy. I couldn’t help myself but entranced by the beauty of that kind of
art.
Answer 2
Believe it or not, I have never visited even a single art gallery before because displays in
art galleries are quite monotonous, and sadly it’s hard for me to build connection with
art. I am not an artistic or imaginative critter and it’s not my cup of tea. Well, perhaps, I
might give it a shot in the future and who knows I may have a change of heart.
Answer 3
Yes I have been to some, however, that was when I was still a primary schooler. I
remember, before we had our summer break, our art teachers usually took us to some
art galleries in the city and unfortunately I can’t recall whether or not I enjoyed it. As
you know, children don’t usually appreciate the beauty of any kinds of art.
LEXICAL RESOURCE
Several [determiner] – more than two but not many

galleries. His answer sounds direct and natural.
iii.) ANSWER 3: The speaker provided a positive answer and just focused on his previous experience of visiting some art
galleries during his primary school days and that may be because he had no recent experience of visiting galleries,
instead, he concentrated on giving some details and opinion of his experience in the past. That’s a good technique just for
him to extend his answer a bit more.

I don’t have any piece of artwork in my room since my room is cramped. However, we
have some in our living and dining rooms. Actually, my mom is an art enthusiast; she
loves to collect some abstract paintings and hang them on the walls. Those pieces of

Answer 2
Yes, I have two – one is a figurative art which was gifted to me by my best friend who is
an artist and the other one is a stained glass of Vincent Van Gogh’s masterpiece, The
Starry Night. I got it from an online art shop five years ago, and that was the time when
I was engrossed reading stories of the life of Vincent Van Gogh. Those two artworks
hold a special place in my heart.
