Indian Mineral Industry is marching towards the acute shortage of Human Resources. Mineral wealth of India, worth 55
billion tonnes of various ore minerals, shows tremendous growth potential for the mineral industry. With the inception of the Mr. Y. Ramachandra Rao, Dept of Mineral Beneficiation, SDS Autonomous College, Shreeramnagar
National Steel Policy issued by the Ministry of Steel, India has targeted a production of 240 million tonnes of steel by 2020. Mr. K. Satyanarayana, Dept of Mineral Beneficiation, SDS Autonomous College, Shreeramnagar
This growth should be substantiated by rapid growth not only in the production of iron ore but also other ores like manganese,
chromite, limestone, dolomite, coal etc. Therefore availability of qualified human resource crunch becomes more severe. It Mr. K. Srinivas, UCIL
is therefore high time for India to put its efforts to develop Human Resources for Mineral Industry.

This conference has been designed differently with a view of developing human resources with the required technical Mr. K Satyanarayana

conference. This is normally missing in present conventional workshop/seminars due to unlimited number of paper
