To Whom It May Concern:

It is my pleasure to write to you and to be able to endorse Jadyn Coleman as a new

teacher. I am proud to say that I was her cooperating teacher during her student teaching
internship.

I noticed right away that Jadyn has strong inter-personal skills. Her warm, outgoing
nature immediately drew in students and staff. The children experienced warmth and
compassion. I found that she was excited to face each day and a pleasure to be around.
Her collaborative nature contributed to the success of our team.

I admire her personal integrity and work ethic! She worked with a constant inner
compass, guiding her and keeping her on track. Throughout her student teaching, she
arrived early to school and worked into the evening hours. I was amazed by the level of
preparation she put into every task. She set daily and long-term goals and was always
prepared well ahead of time.

Jadyn has natural poise and ability to fully capture student’s attention. The students
responded to her high academic and behavioral expectations. She was able to consistently
monitor behavior throughout the day. Her excellent management skills helped her to
establish a climate of courtesy and cooperation. Her calm tone helped keep the students at
ease!

I found her to be exceptionally patient with students and their questions, seeking to
understand their misconceptions. She was dedicated to ensuring students’ questions were
answered in a way they could understand . Her heart is very big, seeing the good in every
child. In fact, during her entire student teaching, I never heard her speak negatively about
a child.

When evaluating student performance, she was sensitive to individual needs, especially
towards students with learning differences. She provided feedback that was both
consistent and timely. It was specific in nature.
After teaching units, assessments showed a high level of mastery. The scores did not
differ from when I taught the units myself.

For math, she carefully analyzed the concepts and presented them to the children in a
step-by-step fashion. I was impressed with her willingness to let students share their ideas
and her ability to follow their thinking.

She excelled in the area of reading, utilizing a variety of formats, including book clubs,
reading conferences, ability grouping and mini lessons covering comprehension
strategies.

I was impressed by Jadyn’s vast knowledge of technology. Our district provided each
student with a Chromebook. Jadyn made great use of these. She effectively created and
evaluated lessons on Google Classroom, as well as maintained a grade book. Students
enjoyed how she gamified learning with Kahoot and Nearpod. Our class loved her
Jeopardy review lessons. I would like to note that Jadyn made her lessons visually
appealing, adding color and images to capture students’ curiosity.

Jadyn is genuinely interested in the craft of teaching and contemplates best practices. She
sought out opportunities for professional dialogue and was very reflective during our
discussions.

She presented herself as a role model to everyone around her through her enthusiasm,
caring ways and high personal standards. She is results driven, never accepting less than
full understanding from students and best practices from herself. She is one of the most
efficient, hard-working young women that I have ever known. When given the choice
between helping a student, or taking it lighter on herself, Jadyn consistently took the high
road. Parents were very grateful for the opportunity to have their child with Jadyn.

Lastly, Jadyn is an exceptional writer, making her an outstanding model for young
learners. She used those skills to write newsletters, e-mails, give feedback to students,
and create assignments. I have not seen a student teacher with such wonderful ability to
capture her thoughts with perfect grammar!

I unequivocally recommend her for the position of classroom teacher and know that any
school that hires her will enjoy her contributions of time, talent and kindness. Her
positive attitude will improve the culture of any school lucky enough to ascertain her
employment. I will miss her dearly. She will make an outstanding teacher and colleague.

Sincerely,
Deborah Grimes
