I'm presently a self-employed mechanical/welding inspector in the pulp
& paper industry.

* I live, and I'm a homeowner in Athol, N.Y since 1991.

* I've been a quality control inspector for 28 years in the nuclear
power, pulp & paper, and other various industries.
* Traveled and have worked @ numerous pulp mills, and fabrication
facilities in North America, Finland, South America (Chile), and
Asia (China).

REPRESENTATIVE EXPERIENCE (PRESENT TO PAST)
International Paper Company (2010-Present) Quality Consultant
* International Paper-Ticonderoga, N.Y.: Responsible for conducting
QA/QC functions such as weld/mechanical inspection, and document
review for on-going recovery boiler economizer fabrication @ a
Saint Catharine, Ontario, Canada fabrication facility. Duties
include visual weld inspection, witness of required I.T.P. NDE, RT
film review, assuring compliance to applicable customer
specifications, drawing requirements, welding procedures, and
quality I.T.P. inspection hold point sequences. Inspections are
coordinated with Metso/fabricator quality representatives.
Responsible for generating inspection reports/photo summaries. I
will also be involved with the field site installation quality
aspects of this project.
* International Paper-Eastover, S.C.: Responsible for conducting
QA/QC functions such as weld/mechanical inspection, and document
review for in March-2010 for boiler attemporator and all
associated small/large bore piping for project @ a Saint
Catharine, Ontario, Canada fabrication facility. Duties included
visual weld inspection, mechanical inspection, RT film review,
document review, and assuring compliance to quality I.T.P., and
drawings. Inspections were coordinated with Metso/fabricator
quality representatives. Responsible for generating inspection
reports/photo summaries.
Andritz (2006-2009) Quality Consultant
* CMPC- Chile, S.A.: Construction site Quality Control Supervisor
for new pulping Fiber line. Responsible for in-process/final
quality surveillances which included weld/mechanical inspection
for shop and field fabricated equipment, and hydro-witnessing.
Equipment inspected primarily consisted of pressure vessels, API-
Tanks, structural steel, and piping/tubing. Responsible for
assuring & witnessing all field fabricated equipment met
applicable governing codes, drawing requirements, testing
requirements, and customer specifications. Responsible for
coordinating with supplier/customer quality representatives,
quality document control/review/acceptance, and eventual
equipment/document turnover to customer end user. Responsible for
procuring inspection/photo summary reports.

* Andritz Capital Group (Roswell, Ga.), Andritz Service Group (Glens
Falls, N.Y.) : Responsible for conducting in-process/final
weld/mechanical inspection for various Andritz equipment.
Equipment inspected included pressure vessels, piping/tubing,
conveyor screws, atmospheric & pressure diffusers, and various
other pulping equipment components. Duties also includes assuring
& witnessing machined/fabricated equipment met applicable
governing codes, testing/material requirements, Andritz
drawings/specifications, customer specifications, and coordinating
with supplier/customer quality representatives. Responsible for
procuring inspection/photo summary reports.
Doty Machine Works, Fort Edward, N.Y. (1996-2006) QA/QC Inspector,
Project Management, Shipping/Receiving:
QA/QC Inspector: Responsible for conducting in-process/final
inspection on machined, and weld fabricated parts and equipment
primarily for the pulp and paper industry. Duties included assuring
new manufactured/repaired/rebuilt equipment met customer
drawing/specification/code requirements by conducting & documenting
as-built dimensions, coatings, and welding inspection. Responsible for
coordination and surveillance of subcontracted services such as
non-destructive testing, special coatings/hard facing applications,
shot penning, and coordinating with customer quality representatives.
Wrote in-house quality control manual and precision tool calibration
procedures.
* Project Management: Responsible for the assessment, quotation, and
material acquisition for the rebuilding/repair of atmospheric
diffuser hydraulic cylinders, pressure diffuser valve station
components, and digester/impregnation vessel shaft level
indicators.

* Shipping & Receiving: Responsible for assuring received material
met Doty Machine Works purchase order requirements as far as
chemical/material properties, dimensional requirements, and
quantity. Responsible for assuring all domestic/international
shipping containers met customer specification requirements.
Responsible for procuring domestic/international shipping
documentation.
Kamyr/Ahlstrom, Glens Falls, N.Y. (1988-1995) Quality Control
Inspector
* Level II ultrasonic imaging technician: Responsible for conducting
ultrasonic imaging for various North American pulp & paper mill
sites. Testing was done on Kamyr Modified Cooking equipment such
as digesters, impregnation vessels, and steaming vessels.

* Quality Control Inspector: Responsible for quality surveillance on
Kamyr/Ahlstrom equipment on a in-process/final basis.
Mechanical/weld/coatings inspection took place at various
fabrication facilities & construction sites in North America, and
Finland. Items inspected included digesters, impregnation vessels,
bleach/brown stock towers, atmospheric/pressure diffusers,
steaming vessels, flash tanks, heat exchangers, chip bins/chutes,
piping/tubing, structural steel, and various other equipment
components. Responsible for conducting supplier quality audits,
witnessing required non-destructive/hydro testing, and assuring
equipment met drawing/specification, purchase order, applicable
governing codes, and customer specification requirements.
Responsible for procuring document control/review/acceptance with
reports/photo summaries of all inspections, with final acceptable
release to customer end user. I coordinated with supplier/customer
quality representatives.
Ebasco Services, South Texas Nuclear Project (1980-1988)
Non-Destructive level II Technician
* ASNT-TC1A Level II radiography, magnetic particle, dye-penetrant,
ultrasonic (straight beam) testing technician.
* ASNT-TC1A Level I ultrasonic (shear wave) technician
* Responsible for conducting/interpretation/reporting for the above
testing disciplines, and assuring testing met all required
governing codes, site and customer procedures.
* Equipment inspected included pressure vessels, power piping,
tubing, tanks, and various other nuclear equipment components.
