The Text

1-Shopping on the internet can be very practical. But how can you be sure you’re
getting what you’ve paid for?
2- In August, after months of saving money, Tina Simon clicked online to buy a
horse. So when she found an eight-year-old Lusitano, she was happy. “He looks a nice
black horse” she said. “He looks strong and healthy”.
3- Tina bought the horse, paying £3.000. But as soon as she paid her money, the
problems started. The advertisement Tina saw on the internet said that the horse lived in
Britain, but it was from France. The sellers, John Burt and his wife Liz, assured Tina
that she could get the horse in three weeks. But it went on and on. Tina made many
phone calls, but she had a different excuse every time.

4- After four months of waiting, a horse finally arrived. But something still wasn’t
right. “The horse that they sent me wasn’t the one I saw on the internet”, said Tina.
“The horse that arrived was thirteen years old. It was brown and looked weak and
needed care immediately”.
5- Now, all what Tina wants is her money back, but Liz and John have stopped
answering her calls and e-mails. “I’m disappointed and angry because I paid for a
quality horse and I haven’t got one”, said Tina.
