1. Introduction/Overview
Despite the benefits promised by eHealth advocates, concerns have been raised regarding the introduction and implementation of such a
system in the Philippines. The country's emerging data privacy and cybersecurity regulatory framework, coupled with the limited IT capabilities
and geographic landscape, makes rolling out an eHealth system difficult. To overcome these, the Philippine government must think of a way to
systemically implement the changes while maintain the integrity of the system (Mundin, 2015)
2. Learning Outcomes
At the end of this session, the students will be able to:
1. Trace the previous practices in Health Reporting System.
2. Identify the existing problems and challenges in Health System, Data Reporting and Referrals.
3. Define the concepts of Health Information and Management Systems and Society.
4. Identify the eHealth vision
5. Discuss the eHealth Context Setting, Strategic Guiding Principles, Components, Phases, and Targets.
6. Discuss the eHealth Milestones thru the help of DOH and DOST.
