Laptop Policy - Cerner
Employees who are assigned a laptop must accept and sign their acknowledgement of this
responsibility and their understanding and agreement with this policy
Employee need to carry Laptop daily to the Office without fail and it should be strictly used for
Official purpose in the interest of the organization's objectives and priorities
Employee will use licensed operating system (Professional Edition) and other software on his / her
laptop and will be solely responsible for the safe keeping of the data. It is mandatory to the
employee to handle the laptop carefully… take maximum precautions to avoid any physical damages
to the laptop…
Employee are not permitted to delete the Company data on the Laptop and maintain absolute
Confidentiality about the data in total interest of the Company during tenure with the Company
Authorized representatives can inspect the Laptop, its usage and the data maintained at any time
and the employee is required to readily submit the laptop for such inspections without hesitation.
Misuse of the laptop like visiting restricted sites, saving unauthorized data so on are strictly
prohibited. Strict action will be initiated against employee if any such activities are found
Cost of any damages in the laptop to be borne by employee. In case of company paid laptop
damages which are beyond the warranty period will be debited to concern employee
Consent of the IT Department is required to adjust or alter the laptop by the addition or deletion of
any hardware.
Will maintain backups of all files to external media or district network drive.
It is the employee’s responsibility to keep their assigned laptop secure and protected at all times. Due
care should be taken in the handling, transporting and usage of the laptop. Improper use or not being
aware of safety issues can cause the laptop irreparable damage. The following suggestions include:
Use protected storage bags or carrying cases specifically designed for laptops.
Lock laptops in cabinets or desks where possible.
Use cable safety locks when necessary.
Secure the laptop if you are temporarily leaving it unattended.
Avoid creating a trip hazard when plugging in the laptop for power.
Use car trunks or other means to keep laptops out of plain view; keep car doors locked.
Be aware that extreme (hot and cold) temperatures in an enclosed vehicle will harm the laptop.
Keep drinks, food, lotions and other harmful materials away from the laptop.
Make sure that before you put your laptop into its carrying bag, it is shut down.
Inspect and clean the air vents in your laptop as part of your weekly routine.
Operate your laptop on a hard surface preferably one that allows ventilation.

Unplug any accessories whenever your laptop is not in use, even for short periods of time, as it uses
power unnecessarily and can cause overheating.
If your internet is delivered through DSL, cable or satellite, verify that your internet service provider
(ISP) provides firewall protection.
Policy Violations
1. Termination of employment.
2. If an employee's laptop is damaged, stolen misplaced or lost due to negligence, the employee will be
responsible for the cost of replacing the laptop.
3. Legal action will be taken against the employee for fraudulent activity (for Data theft) and
confinement of laptop
All the above points hold good for Appistoki Laptops (any other property) and as well Laptops (any other
property) provided by Appistoki Client.
I have read and understand Appistoki/Client Laptop and any other accessories usage policy. If requested
to reimburse Appistoki due to loss, theft, damage or failure to return a laptop as outlined in this policy. I
authorize Appistoki to deduct the amount due from any wages it owes me. If the amount in question is
greater than the amount owed me, I agree to pay the difference to Appistoki on demand. This policy will
be reviewed annually to account for advances in technology and policy changes.
