Only if you Lie:

1. Deal nine cards from the deck into your hand

2. Ask your participant to pick a card and to not show you but show other audience members
3. When they have memorised their card separate the deck so you have two cards off the top and
six cards in your bottom hand making sure their card enters the desk in third place from the
top.
4. Cover the fact you placed their card in third by explaining the name of the trick
5. Ask the audience member to tell you a card name but lie by saying a card name that was not
yours.
6. Now deal one card either onto a surface or onto your hand for each letter of the false card
putting them on the bottom of the deck at every word.
7. Then ask the participant again if they lied to you when they confirm this you spell false in the
same manner as the false card name.
8. When you get to the E of false flip that card over and reveal their card to their amazement.

By Touch Alone:
1. Spread the whole deck and ask a participant to pick a card

2. Tell the participant to show the audience his card but not show you

3. Now tell the person to put their card face down on the top of the deck.

4. Take the deck behind you back and flip their card upside down so there are now two face up cards
on either side of the deck.

(Important: Distract your audience while you do step four but explaining you can feel the identity of
their card through it’s back)

5. Bring the deck back in front of you being careful not to reveal that their card is right side up.

6. Ask the person whether their card is the same or different colour as the card on the bottom of the
deck.

7. As they answer look out of the corner of your eye for the identity of their card.

8. Take the deck back behind your back reversing Step 4 distracting them by talking about the
chances of you getting this e.g. I have 26 cards to choose from.

9. Tell the person what their card is and make a big show of checking to allay suspicion.

The Royal Hotel:

1. Take all the Royal Cards and the Aces from the deck
2. Arrange the cards face down so you have four kings face down and then four queens and so
on in Suit Order
3. Begin the trick by explaining there were four kings that every year met at the Royal Hotel
dealing them into a square.
4. Then explain that whenever the kings travelled the Queens travelled with them dealing them
in a square on top of their kings
5. Say that since both Monarchs of the Kingdom were going they needed to be protected by the
Royal Knight dealing the four Jacks
6. Explain how the royal parties carried a lot of wealth on them and say in the middle of the
knight four thieves slipped in dealing the four Aces
7. Say someone turned the lights out and show this by flipping all the piles upside down.
8. Next put all the piles into one making sure the cards stay in the same order.
9. Now you say there was a fight to show this begin cutting the deck
(Important: Trick will not work if you shuffle you need to cut the deck once putting the other
half on top)
10. Cut the deck as much as wanted even give an audience member a chance to lend the trick
credibility
11. Pick up the deck and deal the cards face down in four piles explaining they all stumbled back
to rooms.
12. Turn the four piles over revealing All the kings in one room, All the Queens in one room, All
the Knights in another room and All the thieves in the last room.

Mississippi Shuffle and Dealing to the Aces:

Note: these two tricks can be performed separately together or even off the back of the royal
hotel if you make sure in which order you pick them up. In this explanation I will tell how to
do these tricks off the Royal Hotel.

1. The Royal Hotel ends with the kings together, the queens together down to the Aces. Pick
up the cards making sure you have four kings at the top followed by four Aces and the
rest of the cards and put the mini pile on top of the deck and you are now loaded for the
Mississippi shuffle.
2. Place the deck onto the table in front of your participant and cut the deck in half placing it
on the left hand side of the two decks.
3. Repeat this for each of the two decks placing the top of the left hand deck on the left hand
side and the top of the right hand deck on the right hand side.
4. Pick up the right hand deck and explain how to do the Mississippi Shuffle by putting
three cards on the bottom of the deck and dealing a card to the top of the other three
decks.
5. Repeat this procedure with each the decks so that when you get to the last deck there
should be three dummy cards on top of it and deal three cards to the bottom of the deck
and one card on the top of each of the other decks.
6. Flip the top card of each of the decks to reveal a king.

Dealing to the Aces continuation from Mississippi Shuffle:

7. Place the kings from the top of the decks in front of the audience so they can see them not
important but it sets you up for Dealing to the Aces.
8. Stack the four piles from left to right so that you have a deck minus the four kings with
the four aces on top of the deck.
9. Start dealing cards face down on the table, for this trick to work you need to get the first
four cards down you distract the audience by telling the audience to say stop when you
have a fair amount of cards. (I usually say that the more cards down the harder it is this
not true but it distracts them as they want as many cards as possible.)
10. When they say stop pick up the pile and deal it into four small piles again making sure
you deal in the same order and that the cards don’t get mixed up.
11. When this is done turn over the top card of each of the piles to reveal an ace.

ESP Trick (Difficult)

1. Without your audience noticing look at the bottom card of the deck and remember what it is.
2. Place the deck in front of the participant and say that you are going to test if the person has
ESP or Extra Sensory Perception.
3. Start spreading the cards out into a wide pile and say that without looking at the cards the
participant must find a certain card and place it facedown in your hand.
Note: Make sure you keep track of the bottom card from the deck
4. Firstly ask them to find whatever card was on the bottom of deck e.g Jack of hearts
5. When they hand you the card facedown look at it taking note of what card it was and say
hmm interesting..
6. You then ask them to find whatever card they just handed you e.g the eight of diamonds
7. Look at the second card they hand you e.g the six of clubs
