UNIT 2. WHILE THERE IS LIFE, THERE IS HOPE.

2. Focus on the most important things of a person’s life.

How often have we thought about the meaning of our small but at the same time
interesting life? Probably often. No matter how we try to fix or change something, life
goes on, and some even small little things make us think about our choice or actions
in the future. Family. In my opinion, this should be in the first place, because who
else but these dear people to us will be able to give us valuable advice or help in a
difficult situation. For some, a family is a certain work collective, but for others, these
are people without whom we cannot imagine our earthly life, and therefore we try to
make sure that these people stay with us for a long time. As much as we want, but
everything is not eternal, so you need to appreciate every moment of the road in your
life, and help those who need our help.Job. Finding a good, comfortable and reliable
job is the calling of our earthly life. For each of us, work is our vocation, it is the call
of the soul. And often we stop and think about our future profession in great detail,
reversing all the positive and negative. But is work the most important thing in life?
There are many people who refuse to ask what is more important than family or
career. We all need to understand that the career will remain in the family.

3. Dwell on the problem: “Appearances are deceptive. Judging people by their

appearances”.

You should not judge each person by their appearance. The appearance of a person
does not say anything about his mental abilities, or about character traits. You need to
appreciate in a person what is inside, and not what is outside. There are people
outwardly beautiful, but inwardly they are empty, but there are and vice versa. I think
that although looks are deceiving, but even the most modest appearance can hide a
devilish character. Yes, I agree that they are greeted by their clothes, but escorted by
their minds. If a person or even a schoolboy is untidy dressed, dirty and unwashed, in
torn clothes, then how can you say that he is neat or is an excellent student. A good
student has order not only in his portfolio, but also in things and in his head. I judge
people by their actions and behavior. It will always give out what someone has
conceived and what is capable of.

4. Introduce and describe yourself / others (appearance and traits of character).

I want to tell you about my friend, her name is Nina. We have known each other from
an early age. We went to kindergarten together, studied in the same class and attended
the volleyball section. Each person looks different. My friend is no exception. Nana is
quite tall and fit. Of course, because she is a future athlete! She has dark, slightly
curly, short hair. The nose is straight, pointed. The eyebrows are wide, and the eyes
are brown and very expressive. Nina's eyes are serious, and sometimes even stern. But
at the same time, the smile is charming and kind, and the laughter is very contagious.
In clothes, Nina prefers a sporty style. Nina is a very friendly and open person.
Together with him it is always fun and interesting. In addition to training, we walked,
came up with exciting activities. In winter, for example, we like to go to the skating
rink. It happens, of course, that we quarrel, but this passes quickly. If I need any help,
Nina is the first to rush to the rescue. She is a true friend.

UNIT 3. TRAVEL BROADENS THE MIND.

5. Your best traveller’s tips.

Cultural Awareness:

Get a good guidebook. This will tell you about the country you are visiting. Find out
about local laws, customs and culture. Take a phrase book and try speaking the local
language. Respect local customs and dress codes. Think about what you wear and
how you fit in. Ask your tour operator or guide if you are unsure. Be discreet about
your views on cultural differences and behave and dress appropriately, particularly
when visiting religious sites, markets and rural communities. Particular care should be
taken not to offend Islamic codes of dress and behaviour with regard to sexual
relations, alcohol and drugs. Always ask an individual's permission before you take a
photograph and respect their reply. In some cultures you should not attempt to
photograph women. Although prices are usually inflated for tourists, it's also
important to remember that the discount you are haggling over could be a few pence
for you but a significant means of income for a seller.

Security

Be security conscious and take sensible precautions Be alert to unattended baggage in

public places. Avoid political and other demonstrations or gatherings. Vary your route
if making regular journeys. Avoid unlit streets at night. Carry only the minimum
amount of cash that you need for the day. Leave your valuables and spare cash in the
hotel safe or other secure place. Never resist violent theft. Check your guidebook,
with your hotel or tour guide for warnings on local scams. Keep abreast local and
regional political scene in the media.

Obey the law

Find out about local laws and customs. Remember that the laws and procedures which
apply are those of the country you are in. Do not overstay your visa. You can extend
your visa in most places; if you do not you can be imprisoned or fined. Do not work
illegally. You can be deported, fined and imprisoned if you do. You may also be
prevented from entering the country again in the future. Hobbies that involve the use
of cameras and binoculars (like bird watching and train or plane spotting) can be
misunderstood (particularly near military sites). If you are not sure, don't do it - it is
not worth the risk of being wrongly arrested for spying.
