THE LITTLE MATCH GIRL QUESTIONS.

Ortega, Shyn Glyty C. 9-Exodus

1. According to the author, She is a little girl. She has a pair of slippers when she
left home but later on lost them because she ran and the other one fell off.
And as she was walking, met a boy who took her other slipper. She also has
an apron where she carries a number of matches and a bundle of them in her
hands. Her hair is by her shoulder with curls at the bottom, She was shivering
from cold and hunger.
2. A story like this would not be able to work in the Philippines for it had snow
in it. You won’t be able to experience snow in the Philippines for it is a
tropical country, therefore, if a story like this would be remade in the
Philippines, revision would be highly recommended for it to suit the setting.
3. Poverty and child labor, as the little girl said, her father would beat her up if
she brings home no money from selling matches.
4. When the author wrote that they only have a roof for them to stay on. That
shows poverty.
5. I would relate her to those whom experience it, those who work despite the
young age for their family.
6. I think those are the happiest moments of her life, the only memories she
chose to remember, the memories where she felt like life is fair because
based on the written scenarios, it’s been really hard for her. Those parts of
the story shows or gave me a bit of hope that everything could be like those
once again, everything could be alright.
7. For me, the important message that the author was trying to give was
appreciation. Appreciate those people around you; let them feel like they are
wanted. Not wanting them to be somebody rather than themselves. Making
the little girl at a young age and beating her up if she brought home nothing
says a lot about their way of thinking. The child could not sell any matches
that day, she never wanted not to sell any, she didn’t deserve getting beaten
up. It has relevance to myself on how I try to overwork myself thinking that I
can achieve it even though I know my capabilities.
8. I would probably make her father realize that he was wrong and fix his
relationship with her daughter. She deserved better.
9. Would take her in for shelter and take care if her.
10. I would tell them that this story has a very good lesson and the ending was a
bit of a shock, I never expected it.

In her hardest moments, she never forgot about the only person whom showed
her love. She wanted to come with her, where she’d feel safe and loved. It made
the most impact in me for the reason that my grandma was the one who raised
me. I felt like I related to her the much because I know what she feels when my
grandma left me as well.
