NET ZERO ENERGY BUILDING

Introduction:
A Net Zero Energy (NZE) Building, Or A Zero Net Energy (ZNE) Building, Is A Building with Net
Zero Energy Consumption, Meaning the Total Amount of Energy Used by The Building on An Annual
Basis Is Equal to The Amount of Renewable Energy Created on The Site. The Goal Is That These
Buildings Contribute Less Overall Greenhouse Gas to The Atmosphere During Operations Than
Similar Non-Zne Buildings.

In Simple Words A Building Is Said to Be NZEB, When the Difference Between Annual Energy
Consumed by the Building and Its Energy Generated on Site Through Renewable Source Is Zero.

AIM:
TO DESIGN A ZERO-ENERGY BUILDING.

NEED OF THE PROJECT:

The Global Warming and Climate Change Are Rising Very High Rate in The Past Several
Years. On The Other Hand, Demand for Fossil Fuel Is Rising Results in Increase in Fossil Fuel Prices.

In A Big Scale, Buildings Present One of The Best Opportunities to Economically Reduce Energy
Consumption and Limit GHG’s.

As Government and Many Corporate Companies Are Very Much Enthusiastic.

The 14th 5-Year Plan (2022-27) Focused on Development of Smart Cities, Increasing Installation of
Rooftop Solar Generation Capacity, Enhanced Renewable Energy Integration, Increasing Electrical
Vehicle Penetration, Smart Meter Roll-Out and Choice to Consumers on Selection of Electricity
Suppliers.

By The Roadmap Of Indian Strategy All New Building Constructed in India After 2030 Should Be Zero
Energy Building and till 2030 Every Building Should Be Coming Under Zero Energy Development or It
Should Be Tending Towards Zero.

SCOPE:
The Building Designed as A NET ZERO ENERGY BUILDING Produces Its Own Electricity, Thus It
Can Save a Huge Amount in Electricity Bill. These Kinds of Buildings Are Environmentally Friendly
Reducing the Environmental Hazards.
LIMITATIONS:
Absence Of Public Awareness on Residential NZEB’s.

Limited Design Expertise in Market.

Higher Initial Cost.

LIMITED AWARNESS ON CONCEPT OF NZEBs.

THERE ARE TOTAL 21 CASE STUDIES AVALIABLE IN INDIA INCLUDING 2 IN HYDERABAD,
