3. Objectives/Mandates :  Collection and maintenance of germplasm of vegetable crops.
 Development of high yielding varieties/hybrids in vegetable crops.
 Standardization of package of practices for important commercial
vegetable.
 Standardization of plant protection schedule for controlling major
pest and diseases of vegetables.
 Supply of quality breeder seed for multiplication.
 Education and training of farmers for adopting newly developed
varieties with modern techniques for maximization of production.
