BUILDING PLANNING AND COMPUTER AIDED DRAWING

UNIT –I&II SECTION – I
1 Explain the building byelaws with reference to open space requirements CO1 [12M]
and plinth area requirements?

2 Discuss about different rooms requirement and standards for residential CO1 [12M]
building?
UNIT-III
3 Explain the factors to be considered in the planning of Educational CO4 [12M]
institutions and banks?
OR
4 Explain the factors to be considered in the planning of Dispensaries and CO4 [12M]
hospitals?
UNIT-IV
5 Classify different types of Doors and Windows with standard values in CO4 [12M]
detail?
OR
6 Classify different types of Roofs and Stairs with standard values in CO4 [12M]
detail?
UNIT I – IV SECTION - II
7 Draw to a suitable scale the front elevation of a King post truss indicating CO3 [24M]
all details for a clear opening of 8000 mm and Draw the elevation of a
glazed window of size 1000 mm x 1450 mm.

8 A house of plinth area about 35sqm is to be located in a plot of 10m x CO3 [24M]
12m.The shorter side is parallel to road running in East-West direction,
with plot on southern side of road. The following rooms are required:
One bed room, Drawing room, Kitchen, Bath and WC.Draw line plan
and dimensioned plan of building.(Both line and dimensioned plan)

Answer One Question from the following (1 x 60 = 60 Marks)

UNIT - V
9 Sketch the plan of a residential building is shown in figure below. CO5 [60M]
Draw: (a) A neat dimensioned plan. (b) Section and elevation, to a suitable scale, using
the following specification.
Specifications: Foundations: C.C 1:4:8 800 mm wide and 300 mm thick. Footings:
Rubble stone masonry: 600 mm x 500 mm. Basement: Coursed rubble masonry: 400
mm wide and 700 mm high. Superstructure: Brickwork in C.M 1.5:300 mm wide and
300 mm high. R.O.C roofing: 100mm thick.
