of Postharvest Management
International Rice Research Institute (IRRI): Postharvest losses in Asia, Latin
America and the Caribbean, and Africa reach up to 30%:
a. Inaproppriate postharvest management practices
b. Inefficient technologies
c. Lack of understanding on the factors that affect grain quality

Poor quality à 10-30% decrease in price of milled rice (affecting farmers’


income)

• Preventive Maintenance (Biasa dilakukan oleh Mekanik/Teknisi)
Occurs on the same schedule every cycle
Saat diperlukan atau saat tidak diperlukan

Occurs as needed: drawing on real-time collection and analysis of machine
operation data to identify issues.

• Consists of checklist:
- Equipment & component inspection
- Calibration
- Cleaning
- Repair & Replacement
• May occur at different intervals
Continues to be practiced because it is highly effective for many organizations
Predictive Maintenance
• McKinsey Global Institute stated: Saving up to $240-$627 billion for
industry
• Proactive
• Can be performed as the machines are running in normal modes
• Identifies & addresses potential problems à maintenance happens
before failure happens
• Relies on interconnected measurement & data collection systems

MTBF = 1,13 – 17 jam
MTTR = 0,86 – 5,63 jam
Mechanical Availability = fluktuatif, tertinggi di angka 94% dan terrendah di angka 44%

à Strategi baru Preventive Maintenance = CBM (Condition Based Maintenance)

MTBF = 30,63 – 70,02 jam
MTTR = 0,62 – 0,79 jam
Mechanical Availability = meningkat menjadi 98 – 99%

• Tujuan utama dari strategi pemeliharaan = Meningkatkan uptime dari mesin.

• Berdasar pada kondisi Kesehatan mesin untuk menentukan kapan dan apa jenis
perawatan yang perlu diberikan.
