RESEARCH TITLE
“A Study on Investors Perception towards Mutual Funds in Bardoli”

Mutual Fund
Mutual Fund is an excellent investment option to spark investors’ funds for
professional management, diversification of risk, advancement of returns, and limited
effective tax liability as compared to any other investment alternatives. Even when the
investment horizon is for a few days, mutual funds investment will earn for the
investor.

How do Mutual Funds work?

An investor invests at one time or on monthly basis. The concept of investing monthly
is called SIP (Systematic Investment Plan). A Mutual Fund is a belief that combines
the savings of some investors who share a mutual economic goal. The money thus
received is then invested in capital market instruments such as shares, debentures, and
other securities. The income received through these investments and the capital
appreciations known is shared by its unit holders in percentage to the number of units
owned by them. Thus a Mutual Fund is the most sufficient investment for the
common man as it offers an opportunity to invest in a diversified, professionally
managed basket of securities at a quite low cost.

How to Invest in Mutual Funds?

Investors can invest directly with a mutual fund or pay the services of a mutual fund
advisor. If he is investing directly, he will invest in the direct method of a mutual fund
scheme. If he is investing through an advisor or mediator, he will invest in the normal
plan of the scheme. If he wants to invest directly, he will have to explore the website
of the mutual fund or its authorized branches with applicable documents. The benefit
of investing in a direct plan is that the investor saves on the commission and the
money invested would boost sizeable returns over a long duration. The biggest
drawback of this method is that investors will have to complete the formalities, do the
research, and monitor their investment all by themselves.
