This report is prepared for my internship program in American International University-

Bangladesh (AIUB). I decided to do my Internship in Kiam Metal Industries Ltd. Kiam is a
leading kitchen were manufacturer in Bangladesh. Kiam Metal Industries Ltd proudly expert
their products in many countries and contributes to economic development of Bangladesh.

The company starts its journey in 1990 since than it has become the most trustable company
for household. In this report I will try to explain marketing and sales process of Kiam Metal
Ltd. I explained here what the activity I done in my internship program is. I learned lot’s of
think from the Kiam Metal Ltd. I feel very blessed to work with their employees and their
teamwork is truly amazing. Kiam Metal Ltd always try to given better services to their
customers. Kiam always insure their product quality, they never compromise with the quality.
They always work with a happy face because of their good working environment. It was a
very amazing place to work. Every one helps me whenever I needed. I have got the chance to
communicate with their customers and the experience was very good. The Chairman Sir and
managing director sir is also a very good human being. They always ask me about my
problems. Their employees are very skilled and they are doing team work to achieve
organization goals. I am very happy about their unity. If any employee not came in the office
then other employee do his work without any questions,

2. INTRODUCTION

2.1 Rationale
This report was written on the basis of my job experience as an intern to complete my
graduation. I have done my internship at Kiam Metal Industries ltd. From this internship
experience, I have gathered many practical knowledge. From this internship I have learned a
lot of things. This internship experience makes me responsible. Through this journey I have
learned how to be perfectionist at work life & how to be dedicated at work. Internship
experience teach me how to behave & connect to the other people. After the internship I feel
my inside more down to the earth & find more opportunities. I am sharing my practical
experience in this repot & I hope this report will motivated for those people who wants to
start their carrier in marketing sector. Through reading this report a man can easily knows
how to start their carrier in this sector.

2.2 Background
Kiam Metal Industries Ltd is a sister concern of BRB group. Kiam Metal Industries Ltd is a
private limited company, The company was formed in 1990. It was situated in BSCIC
Industrial Estate, Kushtia. Kiam Metal Industries Limited is the largest kitchen items
manufacturing industry in Bangladesh. The company was producing all types of kitchen were
which are used as household items.

Kiam Metal Industries Ltd was set up for manufacturing of metal utensils and enamelware for
domestic market, mainly for common people. Considering the demand of the product, it has
changed its production line and manufacturing all types of kitchen items like (non stick towa,
non stick stew pan, non stick korai, non stick fry pan, non stick casserole etc). They also
manufacture pressure cookers. In the past, these products were not manufactured in the
factory, they use to import from the other countries. Now in present days the quality
household products of Kiam Metal Industries Ltd win the trust of country. Now a day’s
customers of our country can buy their favorite world class standard products made by Kiam
Metal in a less price. Kiam Metal products are so qualitative that it could easily take the place
of the foreign market. Kiam Metal products can saving our foreign currency by reducing
import from other countries. After complete the local demand, Kiam metal has exported their
products to India, USA, Australia, Canada, England, Saudi Arabia, Dubai, Netherlands etc.
Kiam Metal has contributed to increasing the national economy day by day. Kiam Metal has
playing a vital role in social economic development of the country. In 1990 Kiam Metal
started with a few people and now the number of workers more than 1500. and day by day
expanding the factory under supervision of MD. MIZBER RAHMAN (Managing Director of
Kiam Metal Industries Ltd). Kiam Metal Industries Limited has also achieved ISO 9001:2008
certificate in the past and many other awards for its superior products and great working
environment in the project. KIAM Metal has achieved the Industry Business award in 2004
as the best kitchen were items manufacturer in Bangladesh

Company Award

The company was managed by dynamic business personalities. The company was an ISO
9001:2008 Certified Company for its superior management system. Kiam Metal has awarded
the Industry Business Award in 2004 as the best kitchens were manufacturer in Bangladesh.

Vision

KIAM METAL INDUSTRIES Vision is to expanding their product lineup. Already they
have big product lineup but in the future they wants to introduce new product to their
customers. In the future they fully automated their factory and use high tech machinery to
reduce carbon. At the time KIAM METAL is the leading company in Bangladesh but they
invest USA & CANADA to expand their company.

Mission

The mission of KIAM Metal is to provide good quality products to their customers. KIAM
Metal has a mission to reduce carbon from their factory so they use high tech machine to
reduce carbon. KIAM has another mission to exports their products and earn foreign currency
to increase GDP in Bangladesh.

Environment

Kitchenware is equipped with the modern facilities & quality control laboratory, KIAM
Metal has own power generation capability, own waters supply through pump machine. The
company has medical and sanitary facilities. KIAM Metal Industries Limited is the most
environment friendly plant in the area. The factory is set up on about 12 acres.

The Environmental control points are:

 State of the art effluent treatment plant use in this factory.

 The company use high efficiency machineries to reduce overall energy usage.
 Heat & power combined used to reduce gas consumption.
 KIAM use of solar energy 3KW for saving electricity.
 KIAM insure best quality raw materials.
 Conserver in water and use inside the factory (Proposed).
 Total employee named in health insurance.

KIAM product & Quality of the Product:

Products

KIAM Metal Industries Limited produce (pressure cookers, rice cookers, non-stick
cookware, Casting korai, blender, gas burner, printing & packaging item, and plastic ware &
plastic goods).

¿Quality of the product

KIAM Metal Industries Limited is highly qualified package for this reason it does not happen
any hindrance in the marketing. For containing the quality of the Metal product the Factory
maintains the following process. Basically the metal product after producing it is stored in a
store house for 3 month stoutest and then the products frequently test done months, two
month by turns, and calculated the rate of degradation. Then it is examined how far it pure.
Moreover a standard scale is perfected after such a test. In this a chart is made. According to
this chart the various steps of product qualities are tested.

3.1 Work Related

I have done my internship at Kiam Metal Industries Limited. Kiam Metal is very renowned
company in Bangladesh, that’s why I choose this company for my internship journey. I can
personally say that my personal experience is quite good in Kiam Metal. First day I enter into
the office, that time it feels scared from inside because this was my first day and I don’t know
anyone in the office. But I have to say that workers here in Kiam Metal Industries Limited are
very friendly and helpful. They give me all the guidance that I need. They give me some tips
also, the tips are:

 How to dress up for the office.

 How I plan my commute.
 They told me to ask plenty of questions.
 Always behave friendly and be down to the earth.
 How to prepare elevator pitch.
 Always share lunch with coworkers.
 Always observe and learn from others.

Actually these tips are means lots to me. At first day they give me some work on Microsoft
excel. Previously I knew that how to operate Microsoft excel. My main work in Kiam Metal
was marketing sector. These sector give me the opportunity to travel all over the Bangladesh.
Kiam Metal is a renowned company and operates its operation in all over the Bangladesh. In
all the district of Bangladesh Kiam Metal have their own office. They give me the
opportunity to make a marketing campaign for them. Previously I have won a award in
American International University Bangladesh, for a campaign create. So with a help of
coworkers and my past experience I have make a campaign for them. After that they launch
the campaign and the campaign was very successful for them.

3.2 Organization Wide

The first day at Kiam Metal I was assigned to marketing department. In the marketing
department I saw many opportunities explore the market and know about the customers of at

Kiam Metal ltd. The senior marketing manager took me with him to their dealership. I went
there and calculate all the products and deliver them. Then I check all the papers and sing all
the papers.

After work some times in Kiam Metal Industries Limited my supervisor told me to work in
campaign designing. Previously in AIUB I make a campaign on shakrain and win a award for
that. So I have a very good experience on designing a campaign. With my coworker I make a
campaign for them and they launched the campaign. I can say that the campaign was very
successful and I have gain many knowledge through this excellent journey.

In the last few days in Kiam Metal Industries Limited my supervisor send me to sales.

3.3 Other Relevant Activities

Kiam Metal Industries Ltd every year launches a program for their workers. Celebration and
seminar programs motivated the workers. If the workers are motivated then they can
performs well and company can achieve good results.

This year Kiam Metal Industries Ltd organized seminar and lottery competition for their
workers. In this seminar honorable chairman (MOZIBER RAHMAN) AND honorable
managing director (MIZBER RAHMAN) makes a speech for their employee. I can say that
their speech was very motivational. I am personally feeling motivated.

In the lottery part they give me the chance of volunteer the program. This is the new
experience for me and I have enjoyed this experience very much.

4. CONSTRACTIONS/CHALLENGES AND PROPOSED COUSE OF

ACTION FOR IMPROVEMENT.

4.1 Identified/Observed in the organization

The Internship program was the important chapter of every student’s academic life. Students
get the chance of working different sector, they can test their skills, patience and ability in the
job, they can understand which field they work and which particular field they wish to apply
in the future. From this internship journey they can find that what they have learnt in the
academes and what not. Because there were many un similarities.

I have found many challenges to work in Kiam Metal Industries Ltd. The challenges are:

 I don’t find enough work.

 Sometimes hesitant to ask question.
 Sometimes my supervisor forgets that I am new in this job.
 Sometimes my work is not noticed.
 I have competition with other internship student.
 I have face problems with time management.
 Understanding the office culture.
 Afraid to ask for leave.
 Hesitant to for lunch break.
 Understanding the team work.

4.2 Academic Preparation

I have found many similarities that I learn in academic study. The similarities are:
 In university I have learned how to use Microsoft excel, in Kiam Metal Industries
Ltd I use to work in Microsoft excel a lot.
 In university I have learned how to design a campaign and run it. In Kiam Metal
Industries Ltd I have make a campaign for them.
 In university I have learned that how to use Microsoft words. In Kiam Metal
Industries Ltd I have do lot of works in Microsoft words.
 In university I have learned how to give presentation. In Kiam Metal Industries
Ltd I give presentation in front all the workers and management people.
 In university I have learned ethics and how to well dress up for the corporate. In
Kiam Metal Industries Ltd I have always dressed well for the office.
 In university I have learned how to manage my time well and in Kiam Metal
Industries Ltd time management played vital role for me.

5. LESSONS LEARNED FROM THE INTERNSHIP PROGRAM

5.1 Implications to Organization/Company Based Affiliation

I have learned many things from Kiam Metal Industries Ltd. The supervisor was very
friendly. He teaches me how I do my office work. I have face real life in Kiam Metal
Industries Ltd. Previously I know how to use Microsoft excel, word and power point. But in
this organization I have learned how to use all this in practical life. I have gained much
practical knowledge in Kiam Metal and this experience helps me a lot.

In Kiam Metal Industries Ltd I have learn how to behave with other workers and how to do
group works. This beautiful journey teach me how to manage my times. From now I learn the
value of times. Kiam Metal Industries Ltd give me the chance to volunteers to program.
Through that program I have learn many things, and my confidence will boost up. Through
the coworkers I have learn that how to be down to the earth and do your work properly.

So here are some points that I leaned from Kiam Metal Industries Ltd.

 How to manage my time.

 Learn about organization culture.
 Learn new skills.
 How to be professional.
 How to make connection.
 How to be responsible

5.2 Implications to University’s Internship Program

AIUB internship program was a great experience for me. This AIUB internship was different
from other university in Bangladesh. My instructor was very good and helps me a lot in this
internship journey. We all know for the Covid 19 situation physical class not possible at this
time. So we have done our classes in online Microsoft Teams. My instructor helps me and
gives me the suggestion how I complete my internship program. Without him I cannot finish
my internship program. So I would like to thanks him. From this internship program I have
learned corporate culture, time management, team work, how to make a formal report and
many more things.

5.3 Others

Life was all about learning, it doesn’t meter where you learn from. Both AIUB and Kiam
Metal Industries Ltd has teach me many things. These wonderful experiences teach me how
to implement my academic study in a corporate life. I feel very lucky to work in a Kiam
Metal Industries Ltd. Because this company is the largest kitchen were manufacturer in
Bangladesh. Here I meet many people. From them I have learn many things.

It was one of the best experiences in my life to work at Kiam Metal Ltd. Kiam Metal Ltd Is
kitchen were manufacturing company in Bangladesh. This is the most trusted company in
Bangladesh. The company starts its journey in 1990 since than it has become the most
trustable company for household. In this report I will try to explain marketing and sales
process of Kiam Metal Ltd. I explained here what the activity I done in my internship
program is. I learned lot’s of think from the Kiam Metal Ltd. I feel very blessed to work with
their employees and their teamwork is truly amazing. Kiam Metal Ltd always try to given
better services to their customers. Kiam always insure their product quality, they never
compromise with the quality. They always work with a happy face because of their good
working environment. It was a very amazing place to work. Every one helps me whenever I

I work short time in Kiam Metal Industries Ltd for my internship programs. In this short
period of time it was really hard to judge a company or find all the problems about marketing
and sales. Kiam Metal Industries Ltd has a very good image in the kitchen were sector in
Bangladesh. Kiam Metal Industries Ltd has also trying to maintain good image to their
customers and continue their business

I can suggest some recommendations for overcoming their problems:

 Kiam should develop their market audit system.

 Kiam should develop their TV commercials.
 They need to create new brand equity.
 Kiam need to identify their market specifically.
 Kiam should improve their online base marketing.
 Kiam should increase their brand image by different creative programs.
