Introduction

ACCUCUT TOUCH
TOUCH designed to automate backgauge movement of paper cutting
machine, of different brands and sizes. ACCUCUT TOUCH installed on any type of
guillotine that uses lead screw for the movement of the backgauge. ACCUCUT TOUCH
not provided to control the knife or clamp on the cutting machine.
machine

ACCUCUT TOUCH increases production three times as well as improves accuracy of

cutting. Backgauge moves with precision speed and accuracy even with the non-skilled
operator.

It can store total 33,825 files. Each file contains 200 programs and each program has
100 cut storing capacity. Each program easily reviewed and modified without entering
the whole program again. Unit scale easily converted from metric to inches and vice
versa with the single push key switch according to the user’s preferred unit of
measurement.

ACCUCUT TOUCH installed on any type of guillotine that uses lead screw for the
movement of the backgauge. ACCUCUT TOUCH not provided to control the knife or
clamp on the cutting machine.

Installation
Installation is easy and requiring only simple tools and basic knowledge of electricity
and mechanics. Minimum mechanical and electrical modifications required for
installing on original cutting machine and we are specialized in the case of Polar,
Seypa, and Wohlenberg, Itoh, Schneider guillotine.

Setting up the program accomplished easily with the use of operating manual or
through the assistance of our technicians. Procedure for programming, reviewing,
execution and operation is easy to learn.

User should make sure that all mechanical parts of the machine are in good working
condition before installing Accucut Touch. There is no direct control between Accucut
Touch and hydraulic system.

Accucut Touch installation is mechanical and electrical. It involve mounting the

programmable backgauge position control console, the shaft encoder to signal the
movement of backgauge to the control unit, proximity switches to signal the various
machine parts awareness to the control unit, the inverter drive to drive the backgauge
motor. The brackets provided designed with extra holes and adjustable slots, so that it
can easily adjust. The major variable installation is the encoder mounting attachment.

Accucut Touch is a retrofit system for many different types of machine so installation
is unique. This manual contains important information for the operation and the
installation of the Accucut Touch. This manual helps user to mount each component
easily.

Accucut Touch display console

Mount the Accucut touch display console as per proper position for the operator to
handle. e.g. on the front- top of the machine.

The shaft Encoder

Encoder is heart of the ACCUCUT. Mount the encoder on the encoder stand provided
with adjustable slot fitting brackets. Mount Encoder in such a way that it align and
synchronize with backgauge leadscrew by backgauge motor. The backgauge
movements transferred to the Accucut Touch electronically. The encoder synchronize
with leadscrew by using one of the below following method

 Timing gears and timing belt

4
ACCUCUT TOUCH

 Spring coupling

Normally, Timing gears and timing belt method is used. After proper mounting, adjust
the belt tension appropriately. More tension may damage the encoder. Less tension
can cause slippage. Improper alignment of spring coupling can also damage itself or
damage the encoder shaft.

Sensor

The sensors installed in different position on different machine. Accucut Touch uses
PNP/NO with +24v dc supply proximity switches for determining the status of different
parts of machine. An LED indication is providing on proximity as well as on front panel
of unit. Adjustable mounting brackets provided.

Calibration sensor

Proximity switch is use for calibration. It should mount at rear end of backgauge. It
is use to provide reference zero to control unit. Mount the sensor so that it will get
the signal just before the rear end of the backgauge during reverse movement of
back gauge. It works only at the time of calibration.

Knife sensor

Proximity switch is use to indicate the presence of knife at upper home

position. Mount the proximity such a way that it remains ON until the knife
present at its top dead home position and gets OFF when knife release to cut
the paper. On Display screen, we can observe the status of knife.

Clamp sensor

Proximity switch is use to indicate the presence of clamp at upper home

position. Mount the proximity such a way that it remains ON until the clamp
present at its top dead home position and gets OFF when knife release to cut
the paper. On Display screen, we can observe the status of knife.

Power ON and Calibration

No need to calibrate
machine at every
power ON

Use when
calibration needs.

As you switch ON the power to your machine, ACCUCUT TOUCH also powered ON. PCSPL
logo displayed, followed by above screen.

To match program unit scale and machine scale, program unit should be calibrate.

Retain from memory function will load the last position of gauge before Power down the
machine. So there is no need to calibrate the machine every time when switch ON.

Calibration
Press CLBT key. Calibration in Progress… message appears and gauge move in reverse
direction toward rear end. Reverse direction indication lit up in front panel. When
gauge reach in front of sensor, which is fitted just before the rear end limit, Accucut
receive Ref Zero. Ref zero indication lit up. Ref sensor picture appears on screen.
Backgauge turn in forward direction in search of encoder zero. After receiving enc zero
(Enc Zero led glows in front panel), backgauge is calibrated and manual mode screen
appears. It shows the present position value of backgauge.

Storing a new program

This function is useful when large volume of paper cut by using same cutting
sequence. It is also used in future if needed. The measurements required for the
complete cutting cycle for a pile of paper can be stored as program in memory using
numerical keys, knife entry or by using advance option. The operator can change,
erase or retrieve these stored programs.

A cutting sequence is the series of values or cutting length that cut on a particular pile
of paper. Before storing the cutting length measurements in a program, first the
cutting sequence planned for the particular pile of paper. This sequence of
measurements can be stored as a program. All the measurements needed for cutting
sequence of a single pile of paper can be stored in single program. Program set up
done when the machine is in manual mode.
To store a new program, there are different methods available in Accucut touch.
Use numerical keys to store a program
1. Direct entry
2. Using advance option

1 If the gauge has slipped over the front limit & is at a value Done
smaller than the front limit. If the next cut is with “Push”
then the gauge doesn’t move. Perhaps if honors the “Push”
& tries to move forward but the limits do not allow it. So, to
execute push, if the current position is smaller than front
limit, move back. (Forget push)
2 Regarding “Auto cut” & photo barrier. Currently during Done.
“Auto cut” we monitor the status of Photo barrier
continuously. Instead we need to monitor it ONLY during Note:
the down word stroke of the knife. i.e During Auto cut.
Light barrier is Not checked
Photo barrier must be considered. when asked “Light Barrier
OK ?” ;
a) Just before you switch “ON” the knife output.
LB OK screen is for formality
b) After you switch ON the knife output. only.

Normal Push.

Normally, 'PUSH' is used when Target is greater than or equal to current.

Push target = Start – push distance

So,

T > C With Push,

Move 5mm Fwd

Start Fast till C = Push Target + 5mm

" Push Target + 5mm, Switch off Fast. Switch ON Brake.

" C = Or < Push Target, Switch off Fwd

Wait for 100 ms

Switch off Brake and Switch on R for 5mm ( from this position) So, this position is
floating with respect to the position reached by the gauge due to its momentum
after switching off F .

After this, It is same as T > C without Push.

For foul during Push.

If C - Push distance is smaller that Forward limit, Push target is 'Forward Limit'
