Part A: Selecting the project &Team (Answer the following questions to be included in
portfolio as Reflection related to formation of group & finalization of project topic)
Note: This section has to be prepared just after the finalization of the ‘Project topic &
formation of project Team.
1. How many alternatives we thought before finalizing the project topic?

Before finalizing our project topic, our team thought of so many alternatives like Online
Doctor Appointment System and a Staff Leave Management System. But after deciding these
topics we found some problems in their projects. So, we found a good project in PHP language
i.e. a Web-Based Application named Daily Expense Tracker.

2. Did we consider all the technical fields related to branch of our diploma programme?

Yes, We followed all the technical filed related to the Computer branch of our diploma
program according to the rules given by MSBTE.

3. Why we found present project topic as most appropriate?

We found our present project topic as most appropriate because the use of this project is
every which is used everywhere. We see people are in tension because the need to register
the expense and sometimes people forget what they had purchased so it is very helpful in
every field.
4. Whether all the group members agreed on the present project topic? If not? What were
the reasons of their disagreement?

Yes, my team member is fully agreed on our present project topic.

5. Whether the procedure followed in assessing alternatives & finalizing the project topic
was correct? If not discuss the reasons ?
Yes, we rectified and all the procedures for completing the project topic were followed.

6. What were the limitations in the other alternatives of project topics?

The big limitation of our other alternative was the less amount of time shortage of
resources and the cost is going very high so we choose this topic.

7. Whether we faced any problem in forming the team? If yes, then what was the problem &
how was it resolved?
Yes, I faced some problems because I want a partner to whom I can trust and I find my partner
from my friend circle and I got the skills that I want in my project so this is how I solved my
problem.

8. Am I the leader of our project team? If yes , then why was I chosen? If not why I could not
become the project team leader.
Yes, I am the team leader because I had done some projects before this project and I have
some technical knowledge in web development so I was chosen as a team leader by our
team.

9. Do I feel that present team leader is best choice available in the group? If yes , then why?
If not, then why?
Yes, I am the team leader of our project and my team members can also be team members as
they had a good technical sound in web development, and before this project, they worked on
their own project.
10. How we formed our team?
We formed our team on the basis of the requirements of our project. We put together our
team based on the skills we needed for our project and the attitude we wanted to have when
we are working together.

11. Can we achieve the targets set in the project work within the time & cost limits?
Yes, we can achieve this project within the given time limit and I think the cost limit is given to
our project is sufficient to complete our project without hosting.

12. Any other reflection which I would like to write about formation of team & finalization of
project title ,if any?
No, we don’t have any other reflection
Part B: Reflection related to project planning (Answers to the following questions to be
included in ‘Portfolio ‘ as reflection on planning)

1. Which activities are having maximum risk & uncertainty in the project plan?
We have faced some risk and some uncertainty in our project plan but we solved that under
the guidance of Ms.Dudhmale M.N.

2. What are the most important activities in our project plan?

3. Is work distribution is equal for all project group members? If not ? What are the
reasons? How we can improve work distribution?
Yes, everyone in my team getting an equal amount of work in my team.

4. Is it possible to complete the project in given time? If not what are the reasons for it?
How can we ensure that project is completed within time?
We had started our project planning from the next day of our project selection to complete
and deploy our project within the time.

5. For which activities of our project plan, arrangement of resources is not easy &
convenient?
We required some languages like HTML CSS JavaScript for our front-end development and for
the back-end we used PHP and for our database, we used My SQL. There were many
responsibilities and roles of members. The number of members performing tasks and the
required equipment.

6. Can we reduce the total cost associated with the project? If yes, then describe the
ways?
Yes, the project’s biggest risk is security. Our customers should not be losing their expense so
we think and after so many times of testing, we got our project. According to the charges of
the deployers website we need to give the costs so it can be less or more.

7. Did we make enough provisions of extra time/ expenditure etc. to carry out such
activities?
Yes, we have calculated the budget for our project and the required time based on best-case
and worst-case scenarios.
8. Did we make enough provisions for time delays in our project activity? In which
activities there are more chances of delay?
Yes, we have done all the things like design, development and testing of our project
but we were stuck at deployment so it takes sometime to finalize our project.

9. In our project schedule which are the days of more expenditure? What provisions we
have made for availability & management of cash ?
In our project, we are using the IDE i.e. Visual studio user code and its free of cost. In our
database, we used My SQL it is also free of cost. the last one is deployment and there were so
many deployment websites available we will use anyone according to our project and team
convenience it will cost us about 1500 rupees.

10. Any other reflection which I would like to write about planning ?.
Our planning is very simple first we have designed the structure of our project then we started
the development of our project and then testing and the last you know i.e., deployment.

2. The project idea was presented, and the Daily Expense Tracker app was
chosen.
3. We submitted a project proposal to the guide once we had chosen the
project.
4. The project's guide received my portfolio and project diary.
5. At front of the entire faculty, we presented the project proposal in its final
seminar.
Reason for delay if any:
- The project presentation was delayed due to a change in the project
proposal.
Corrective measured adopted:
1. Proper ppt formatting.
2. Adding the department's mission vision to the ppt.
3. Properly detailing the project's abstract.

Abstract:
We are developing an Web application named as “Daily Expense Tracker
System” and this application is used to manage the application user‘s daily
expenses in a more efficient and manageable way. By using this application we
can reduce the manual calculations for their daily expenses and keep the track of
the expenditure. In this application, user can provide his/her expense to calculate
his/her total expenses per day and these results will stored for unique user.

Every day Expense Tracker System is intended to monitor Income-Expense of a


Housewife on an everyday premise. This System separates the Income-based
daily expenses. On the off chance that you surpass day’s cost, the system will cut
it from your salary and will give new everyday cost permitted sum. On the off
chance that that day’s cost is less, the system will include it in reserve funds. Day
by day cost following System will produce report toward the finish of month to
demonstrate Income-Expense Curve. It will give you a chance to include the
reserve funds sum, which you had put something aside for some specific Festivals
or days like Birthday or Anniversary.

EXISTING SYSTEM

In existing, we need to maintain the Excel sheets, CSV etc. files for the user daily
and monthly expenses. In existing, there is no as such complete solution to keep a
track of its daily expenditure easily. To do so a person as to keep a log in a diary
or in a computer, also all the calculations need to be done by the user which may
sometimes results in errors leading to losses.
