I. Executive Summary
On Saturday, November 20th, Charlie Ervin and David Morris will host the “DECA

Thanks-Giving Back Event.” DECA will be working with Calvary Children’s Home to

raise money for orphaned children. DECA is an organization that prepares emerging

leaders and entrepreneurs, and Calvary Children’s Home is an organization that works

for benefitting orphaned children. The event is a movie night where we will be watching

two Charlie Brown Thanksgiving Movies. Tickets to get in will be $8. 50% of all

proceeds will go to Calvary Children’s Home. We want to use this money to purchase

Christmas presents and make sure that everyone has a Merry Christmas this year. On

October 20th, we will begin our campaign by getting permission to host our event on

Hillgrove’s Football Field. We will contact Swank Motion Picture and rent the 2 Charlie

Brown thanksgiving movies. We will also purchase popcorn, cornhole, and spikeball.

After Halloween, specifically on November 3rd, we will begin to set up flyers for this

event and make announcements on the morning news. Students will arrive at the

Hillgrove football field at 6:30. There will be touch football, spikeball, and cornhole set

up for kids to enjoy before the movie. At 7:00, we will display the Charlie Brown

Thanksgiving movies. After the movies are finished at around 8:00, people can stay and

socialize for a bit, but everyone has to leave by 8:30. DECA volunteers will stay after and

cleanup.

II. Description of the Event, Product, or Service

DECA will be partnering with Calvary Children’s Home for a

Thanksgiving fundraiser event. DECA is an organization that prepares
emerging leaders and entrepreneurs. On November 20th, DECA will be
hosting a movie night on the football field. This will have an ample amount
of fun opportunities for both children and parents. We will have a large
movie theater screen brought onto the turf for people to watch Charlie
Brown on either towels
or lawn chairs. You may bring blankets to stay warm. We will pop popcorn
and have drinks and candy there. This fundraiser’s purpose is to raise

III. Campaign Objectives

The objective for this event is for the students of hillgrove to support a good cause, and
have a little fun with it.
This will also increase awareness for children with no parents or no home to go to. The
situations that us students have can be taken for granted, and it is important for us to
realize how blessed we are, and to use our blessings to help those in need.

V. Campaign Activities and Schedule
Include creative samples of marketing pieces suggested

We start our campaign one month prior to the event, on October 20th. At this point, we
will just be finding the materials to make this event happen. This involves making sure
that we are clear to host this event at the Hillgrove High School football field, and
buying what is needed. We need to purchase the two charlie brown movies, which are
600 each from Swank Motion Picture. We will then purchase cornhole sets, spikeball
sets, and popcorn. After we have purchased what we need, and after Halloween has
passed, we can start marketing. We need everyone to not be thinking about Halloween
and have already moved on to Thanksgiving by the time we start campaigning. On
November 3rd, we will begin to set up flyers and make announcements on the morning
news. The event will take place on November 20th. Students will arrive at 6:30 where
they must pay $8 and can find a spot on the field.
There will be some field games such as cornhole, spikeball, touch football
At 7 pm the charlie brown movie will start, and popcorn will be given out to the
students
There are two Charlie Brown movies to watch- A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving, and The
Mayflower Voyagers- each are 30 mins.
At 8 pm, the movie will end and attendees can stay and talk after but everyone must be
gone by 8:30

VII. Key Metrics
What are the key activities that must be measured?

9 | Page
-Amount of students projected to show up
We want to bring school spirit back to hillgrove, as recently it has been evident that
there is a lack of participation in out of school activities (football games, traditions, etc).
We really want to help Hillgrove reach higher levels of school spirit, and more school
spirit could help influence events for the school, and involve more students.

-Amount of money we are able to raise

At the end of the day, the purpose for this event is to raise money for Calvary Children’s
home. If we have around 500 students show up and pay 8 dollars for a ticket, we can
raise about 4000 for Calvary Children’s Home. This will help orphaned children more
than we know.
