Are you able to see a story behind the data? We are looking for an accounting driven, data artiste with a consultative and advisory mindset that can support our growing and innovative
firm. Reporting to the Business Analytics Manager and/or Commercial Partner, the Data Analytics Specialist is a strategic thinker who can help build the data vision of our company in a
high demand industry. While playing a key function in the consulting department of the firm, their primary goal will be to leverage data and communicate findings to help us and our clients
make smarter, data-backed decisions as well as deliver value-added advice.   
 
This specialist will be able to contribute to change at a national level and leverage networks with international Baker Tilly (BT) offices. This cross-functional role will also provide support
for our accounting practice in audit and reporting and assist BT members to identify situations where data analytics can be implemented and optimized.  
 

What would you be doing? 

Collaborating with audit staff to develop data solutions that comply with professional standards. 


Acquiring and cleaning data from various types of data sources using data ETL tools.  
Performing testing and validation of data sets for audit purposes. 
Deriving insight from data to improve and streamline audit processes. 
Supporting decision making for clients and BT management. 
Synergizing with partners, managers, and at times directly with clients to determine and address data and reporting needs to identify business needs and solutions. 
Creating easy-to-understand reports and dashboards for external clients and internal staff. 
Designing, developing, testing and maintaining internal and client facing Power BI dashboards. 
Establishing credibility and develop relationships with current and prospective clients. 
Providing support/assistance for client proposals. 
Conducting and assisting with training and information sessions for BT locally and nationally. 

Our ideal Candidate would have.. 

Bachelor's degree in business or accounting  


CA, CPA, CGA would be considered an asset 
1+ years audit experience
3+ years’ experience in a data analyst or relevant role  
Strong interest in data analytics, data visualization, and process automation 
Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Power BI, and DAX 
Knowledge of data access through various connectors in particular SQL and Power Query 
Experience with data analysis tools such as CaseWare IDEA, ACL, or TeamMate Analytics 
Keen attention to detail and data integrity 
Understanding of data gathering, inspecting, cleansing, transforming, and modeling techniques 
Avid problem solver with an analytical mindset 
Excellent business acumen and ability to present insights from operational and financial data 
Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills 
Strong project management and organizational skills with an ability to multitask 
Ability to explain complex information to a wider audience 
Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment 
Initiative to learn new tools with minimum guidance
