1 Identify and explain briefly the type or dimension of environment to which the
following are related-
(i) Banks reducing interest rates on housing loans
(ii) An increasing number of working women
(iii) Alcoholic beverages are prohibited to be advertised on Door darshan.
2 Suganthi Hospital' is a famous company which provides health services. It has a great
market share. Last year, in no time, several MNCs arrived. This fact caused a great
fall in the company's business. The whole responsibility of finding the solution to this
problem fell on the shoulders of the General Manager. Now in order to keep himself
away from the routine activities of the company, he gave some of his authorities to his
departmental managers. He gave them the freedom also that if they wanted, they could
give some of these authorities to their own subordinates. The departmental managers
were already feeling themselves overburdened with the workload. Therefore, they
handed over some of their authorities to their subordinates. As a consequence of this,
on the one hand, the General Manager got time to solve the serious problems and, on
the other hand, the feeling of responsibility was aroused in the subordinates. Within a
few days the growth rate of the company started rising.
Identify the concept of management described in the paragraph given above and also
explain the two points of its importance spoken about her.
3 During partition, Das came to Mumbai from Calcutta with a lot of wealth. Keeping in
view his innate ability to visualize and create things, he decided to work as a junior
assistant in a film studio. Over a period of time, he gained experience and his worm
was well acclaimed, he decided to set up his own film studio. Initially he was himself
looking into every aspect of the business, but as his work increased manifold and his
own productivity reduced with age, he hired Sunil as manager. Sunil being immature
in his work started giving bookings for the studio haphazardly. He would never decide
anything in advance or do any kind of forecasting of events. This led to a lot of
confusions and conflicts. As a result, goodwill earned by Das over the years began to
decline. In the context of above case
(a) Identify the function of management, which Sunil failed to perform by quoting
lines from the above paragraph.
(b) Describe briefly any three features of the function of management as identified in
part (a).
4 “This is the only element of the marketing mix which talks about the revenue of
the firm. It is the economic value of product normally expressed in the form of
money.”
Identify the element and explain three factors affecting the same.
5 a. Identify the following principles or techniques of management and explain

them
i) Separation of planning and execution functions extended to the lowest
level.
ii) There should be complete cooperation between the labour and
management.
b. Which promotional tool should be used by Mahima Mehra that will help in
increasing demand for such products and keeping the promotion costs at a
minimum?
c. In order to be successful, an organization must change itself and its goals
according to the needs of the environment. Identify the feature of
management being described here.
d. ‘Management unites the efforts of different individuals in the organization
towards achieving goals.’ Identify the characteristic of management discussed
above.
e. Most economic activities in the country had come to a standstill after the
government imposed a 21-day nationwide lockdown beginning March 25 to
check the spread of covid-19. Identify the features of business environment
being described above.
