Safety Rules
1. All minors must be at least 6 years old and pass a drivers test.
2. All Super Stock and Modified drivers must be at least 16 years of age.
3. All drivers under the age of 16 must have written permission of a parent.
4. Drivers must remain seated on tractor during the pull and have complete control at
all times on and off the track.
5. No shifting, jerking, clutch or bouncing on the seat any time during the pull.
6. Tractors with factory variable speed controls may be used during the pull.
7. No riders. Only the drivers will be allowed on the tractor when being towed or pulled.
8. All drivers must wear shirt, ankle length pants and shoes. No open toes. No bare
skin on legs can be shown.
9. One hand must remain on steering wheel at all times while sled is in motion.
Switching hands is permissible.
10. No smoking while tractor is hooked to sled.
11. All pulls must start with a tight chain. No jerking is permissible.
12. No hot rodding on or off the track.
13. Tractors must stop immediately at the signal of the flagman. If you fail to stop, it will
result in disqualification.
14. All tractors must be equipped with working brakes.
15. Exhaust: If not stock designed, must discharge vertically upward within10 degrees of
plumb. No rain caps.
16. All weights must be mechanically and safely secured to the tractor must not extend
beyond the crown of or side of rear tires.
17. Weights, any parts, or objects lost from the tractor while tractor is hooked to the sled
will be cause of disqualification.
18. All tractors must be equipped with a working kill switch. (If using an electric fuel
pump, kill switch must kill ignition and fuel pump.)
19. Sled operator has option to kill tractor if he feels driver is out of control.
20. No unattended tractors shall be left with engine running.
21. No dual wheels, four wheel drives, tricycle front ends, chains, or recapped tires
allowed in any class.
22. All tractors must have a seat with a min. 3-inch back rest or originate from standard
lawn and garden equipment.
23. All drivers (except stock) are required to wear D.O.T. approved helmet during their
pull. Weigh in includes helmet.
24. Fuel tanks and batteries must be mounted securely.
25. All pulleys, clutches, fiber motor connections, or rotating shafts must be covered with
1/8” thick made of steel or aluminum. 360 degrees covers for flywheels steel or
aluminum. If running steel flywheels the stock shroud may be used.
26. Engine side shields must be 1/8” thick, made of steel or aluminum and be as wide as
motor block. The right side shield must bolt to the frame and extend up under the
hood or if not all the way under the hood, must be bolted to head. Left side of must
cover the crank throat.
27. All throttles must return to idle upon release. All tractors must have a dead man
throttle that returns to idle when released, excluding deck tractors. All Super Stock
and Modified must use two return springs.
28. All tractors must have adequate fenders and foot rest 4” minimum width that will
provide adequate barrier between feet and tires.
29. All hitches shall be made of steel or aluminum and rigid in all ways with opening to
be horizontal to the ground and to the point where the sled chain is hooked to the
draw bar must be behind center of rear wheel.
30. All tractors must be equipped with skid or mechanical device to prevent tip over and
must not interfere with sled hitch. Tip over device must have two pads 2”x3” or two
wheels 4” diameter and 1” wide with solid metal center inserts. Wheels and pads can
be no closer than 5” from the rear wheels and no more than 5” from ground to
wheels or pads.
31. Obvious or excessive consumption of alcoholic beverages will be grounds for
disqualification. Any owner or driver who assaults or threatens to do bodily harm to
any official or person on the grounds at a sanctioned pull will be barred from
participation the remainder of the day and the next two pulls. If an incident that
causes disqualifications for any reason occurs during or immediately after the tractor
has pulled, all prize money will be forfeited in that class for the day.

General Rules
1. All stock, stock altered, and super class tractors are subject to engine teardown at
any time throughout the year. Any tractor driver or owner of this association may
protest any tractor in the same class by putting $50.00 fee. Protest must be filed in a
period of fifteen minutes after the class is completed. If tractor is legal, the owner will
receive the protest money. The owner or his mechanic will tear down or prepare the
engine. The rules committee, driver, and/or owner, will be the only people present at
the teardown. If the tractor is found to be illegal, the tractor will lose all points prior to
the day in all classes. Driver and owner will forfeit prize money and entrance fee. The
tractor will not be allowed to pull in the next two pulls. The name of the person
protesting does not have to be known.
2. The lottery system will be used for technical inspection procedure. The class will be
drawn after all classes are finished. The top three drivers in the class drawn will be
checked. There will be only four people at the check: Tech man, driver, tech helper,
and builder of the engine.
3. All tractors must pass total inspection before being allowed to pull.
4. Flagman must be from the C.C.T.P.A club or have had training from our club on
flagging.
5. No V-8 engine powered tractors will be allowed to pull at C.C.T.P.A pulls. Single &
Twin cylinder tractors only.
6. All kill switches must be zip tied.
7. RPM (stock class only) weight, hitch height and safety issues not subject to the
$50.00 fee. If found illegal puller is disqualified.
8. Any three persons of the rule committee shall have the authority to disqualify any
contestant that fails to meet safety standards.
9. Total length from center of rear axles to weight box is 8’ – 0”
10. In case of rain the classes that are complete will receive points and money.
11. First puller in the class has the right to take or turn down his/her hook. Puller has the
right to come right back, third or last position.

Stock Tractors
1. All drivers must be six years old and operate the tractor in a safe manner.
2. All tractors must have stock OEM type engines. Engine and transmissions case must
match tractor frame. Narrow frame tractors may be altered to allow for the gear drive
starting system. No aftermarket frames in stock class. Stock OEM
(Deere/Cub/Wheelhorse/etc.) frames only with no modifications other than those
listed in stock rules. 10 HP though 16 HP engines may be installed in a narrow, wide
and spread frame tractors. Hydro tractors may be changed to gear drive
transmission. Wheel base cannot be altered, and must stay within a 48-inch
maximum wheel base. Transmission, front axle and engine must be in original
location. Tube front axles are allowed but no changes may be made to the wheel
base and it must be in stock position. Tube axles may be stock or fixed.
3. All engines to have working governors. Engine cannot exceed 4000 RPM at any
time. RPM’s may be checked before pulling by a club owned tach. All throttles must
have a positive stop and all foot throttles must have a positive stop under pedal.
4. All engines must be stock unmodified OEM parts. Bore can be up to +0.30 oversized.
No porting or polishing allowed. Heads must have inner and outer gasket seal
surface. Balancing is not allowed. No more than 3/16 spaced on carburetor mount.
Only OEM stock and OEM style inserted rods are allowed. Exhaust port must be
unmodified (no welding, no work inside) but the stock exhaust thread must be
present in exhaust port. Exhaust must be vertical.
5. Single cylinder block valve type motors must be flathead. No overhead valve type
single cylinder motors. Twins are allowed to run flat head or overhead valves (no
roller rocker/cams allowed).
6. Tires: Stock class tractors must run a stock bar or turf style tire. VM TT and ATV tires
are allowed but must be non-professional. Cutting tires is allowed on
bar/turf/ATV/gator/VMTT tires. NO professional pulling tires are allowed (Ex.-
Lawntec, Cepeks, VM 07/08/09 and Pit Bulls). Maximum tire size is 26x12x12”.
7. Tire size/Hitch Height: When using 23” tires, the maximum drawbar height is 14”.
When using 24” tires, maximum drawbar height is 13.5”. When using 26” tires,
maximum drawbar height is 13”.
8. Only gasoline or racing fuel with a specific gravity of .750 or less. No alcohol or
additives.
9. Any gears may be used in the transmission, but must have a working reverse.
10. 950lbs class, 10 horsepower and under, engine manufactured rated.
11. 950lbs class, 12 horsepower and under, engine manufactured rated.
12. 1050lbs class, 14 horsepower and under, engine manufactured rated.
13. 1150lbs class, 16 horsepower and under, engine manufactured rated.
14. All stock classes subject to lottery teardown.
15. Cams may have .325 lift at the valve. No duration limit.
16. It is up to owner to run a head gasket or not.
17. Choke plate may be removed from carburetor.
18. Flywheel may be stock or steel. If using steel, it must not exceed 25 lbs.
19. Piston should never protrude block more than .005”.
20. Sleeving is allowed to bring block back to factory specs. (Ex. 16hp block must be
sleeved to std. 16hp bore.)
21. Carb must be stock with no modifications.
(These rules will be frozen for 2 yrs.)
Stock Twin Tractors
1. 1150lb class, 25hp and under, engine manufactured rated.
2. 1050 lbs class, 25 hp and under, engine manufactured rated.
3. All general & safety rules apply.
4. Factory stock, commercially available garden tractor with cast block engine. Engine,
chassis, and sheet metal must maintain stock appearance.
5. Must use only OEM AVAILABLE UNALTERED PARTS for engine manufacturer. No
performance improving alterations to chassis or engine parts allowed unless
specifically noted in rules for this class.
6. Modifications to clutch, drive line, and transaxle assembly are allowed to prevent
breakage.
7. Frame may be altered to accept non-original engine.
8. May move front axle forward within factory frame. May use aftermarket front axle but
can not exceed a max of 52 inches.
9. No welding or modifying or block or cylinder head. Cylinder head must maintain
stock combustion chamber lip and head gasket.
10. Maximum bore size is .030 over manufacturer’s standard specifications. Pistons
must not protrude out of cylinder more than .005”.
11. No fabricated manifolds, carburetor stand offs, velocity stacks, or spacers allowed.
12. Carburetor must be stock, unaltered and unpolished. Choke butterfly and shaft can
be removed. Air restricting venture must not exceed stock size for model,
horsepower, and configuration. Carb may have an adjustable main jet. No fuel
injection allowed.
13. Engine must be governor controlled. Maximum RPM is 4000, no variance will be
allowed.
14. Billet steel or aluminum flywheels are allowed. No welding or machining of cast
flywheels.
15. Only gasoline or racing fuel with a specific gravity of .750 or less. No alcohol or
additives.
16. Transmission gears may be changed but must have working reverse.
17. Tires: Stock class tractors must run a stock bar or turf style tire. VM TT and ATV tires
are allowed but must be non-professional. Cut tires are allowed on
bar/turf/ATV/gator/VMTT tires. NO professional pulling tires are allowed (Ex.-
Lawntec, Cepeks, VM 07/08/09 and Pit Bulls). Maximum tire size is 26x12x12”
18. Tire size/Hitch Height: When using 23” tires, maximum drawbar height is 14”. When
using 24” tires, maximum drawbar height is 13.5”. When using 26” tires, maximum
drawbar height is 13”
19. Only stock, OEM, fuel pumps allowed.

Stock Altered Tractors


1. All stock altered tractors must pass safety inspection.
2. Front axle may be moved forward to 52”. Hood, grill, and fenders may be changed.
3. All stock altered classes subject to lottery teardown.
4. All rules and specifications in the C.C.T.P.A. booklet pertaining to stock altered
garden tractors and drivers must be followed strictly.
5. No visible modification to engine blocks (such as welding) must be OEM bolt holes
on intake and exhaust ports. Carb must be stock appearing.
6. Internal gears and axles may be of custom or automotive design. However, external
housing must be stock garden tractor.
7. Aftermarket and billet heads are all allowed.
8. Electric fuel pumps not to exceed 9 P.S.I. with a gauge permanently mounted in fuel
line.
9. Maximum of .750 specific gravity. 10hp, 12hp, 14hp and 16hp stock altered tractors
can run alcohol or gas (.750 specific gravity) with no additives. Drivers must wear full
fire suits if running alcohol. All stock altered drivers must wear a helmet, regardless if
running alcohol or gas.
10. All tractors must pass total inspection before being allowed to pull.
11. Any tractor using an electric fuel pump must be equipped with a fire extinguisher
located within reach of the driver while seated.
12. 1” or under carb can use a 1” thick spacer in all stock altered class.
13. Max. Carb size is 1.20.

Super Stock & Modified


1. 1050lbs. Super Stock
2. 1050 Modified
3. Chassis must originate from stock garden tractor. Must have factory appearance or
look alike.
4. Engines must be rated at 20hp or less by factory specification. Four cycle air cooled
with a maximum of one cylinder flat head. Cubic inches must not exceed 50.5.
5. Maximum diameter of piston in Super Stock tractors must not exceed 3.8125. Allow
.020 for clean up.
6. Over sized cams, coils, valves will be allowed.
7. Super Stock may run big carburetor.
8. Carburetor must be naturally aspirated.
9. Stand off pipes, ram tubes, external fuel pumps, and oil pumps are allowed.
10. Electric Fuel pumps not to exceed 9 PSI with a gauge permanently mounted in fuel
line.
11. Super Stock and Modified may use over sized cranks.
12. Aftermarket heads are allowed.
13. Internal gears and axles may be of custom or automotive design. However, external
housing must be of stock garden tractor origin.
14. Custom made or automotive clutches, automatic transmissions, or torque converters
may be substituted for stock clutches.
15. Aftermarket blocks are allowed.
16. No visible modifications to engines are allowed other than those listed.
17. Wheel base can be no more than 56”.
18. All tractors must be placed in neutral and foot off clutch at the end of each pull.
Hands should be placed in air to let track worker know it’s safe to unhook tractor
from sled.
19. All Super Stock and Modified tractors must have a steel flywheel. NO cast iron
flywheels.
20. All Super Stock and Modified tractors must have head straps mounted securely to
crank case or frame. Not required on aftermarket blocks.
21. All Super Stock and Modified tractors must have machine start pulleys made of steel
or aluminum.
22. Starter pulleys mounted on front of crankshaft must have bolt and washer threaded
into the end of the crank shaft to prevent pulley from coming off end of crank.
23. When kill switch is pulled, both ignition and electric fuel pump must be inoperable.
24. All rules and specifications in the C.C.T.P.A. booklet pertaining to Super Stock and
Modified tractors and drivers must be followed strictly.
25. All upper classes may run alcohol.
26. All tractors running alcohol, fire suits are required.
27. No additives will be allowed in alcohol. This includes tinted or dyed alcohol.

Pro V-TWIN
1. If four or more entered there will be a separate class if less than four, they will pull
against Prostock/mod. class. If pro V_ twins run with Prostock / mod class they will
run at 1000 lbs and 12” hitch height. These rules can be changed at anytime to
promote fairness.
2. All general rules apply.
3. Engine shielding rules: 1/8” steel or 3/16”aluminum on external side of cylinder
extending from head gasket to frame. Shield must be attached to frame at the bottom
and to the flywheel shield at the top to make rigid.
4. Maximum overall length will be 96”
5. Maximum wheelbase will be 56”
6. Maximum weight will be 1050 lbs.
7. Maximum hitch height will be 13”
8. Engine must be a commercially available lawn and or garden tractor engine. V twin
type configuration only
9. Maximum engine size is 45.5
10. Cylinder head: must be stock appearing cast head.
11. Carburetor: Limited to one carburetor with one venturi with one throttle butterfly.
Maximum venture size will be 1.200”. No air entering after the 1.200” restriction.
12. Steel flywheel is mandatory and with general shielding.

Technical inspection Procedure


It is the responsibility of the owner of the tractor to have the tractor prepared for
inspection. Tractor must be prepared in 15 minutes.
Tractor Preparation
1. The head must be removed. On a Stock tractor, head must be OEM. On a stock
altered tractor, head can be OEM, after market, or billet head.
2. Must be at least 1” of crankshaft available for the degree wheel to be used.
3. Engine will need to be turned through one cycle. On Cub Cadets, the clutch shields
must be removed if there is not pulley on the crankshaft.

Inspection
1. Three personnel will be allowed at tech inspection: the owner, tech committeeman,
and tech inspector.
2. An area will be designated prior to each event by the tech committee.
3. Gauges will be used to check valve and bore sizes.
4. A dial caliper will be used to check stroke.
5. All specifications will be on hand at tech.
6. Numbers will not be recorded, but will only be recorded as pass or fail on tech sheet.
7. If tractor fails inspection, it will be checked again to verify.
8. If there is a part that is questionable, it will be inspected further and brought before
the tech committee.

Stock Altered Engine Specifications


1. The following components must be of OEM: Valves, lifters, and carburetor.
2. Flywheel must be steel.
3. Original type of ignition only.

suits if using alcohol.
