Above are reading materials History and its definition. Read them and answer

the following questions.

1. What is your understanding of history? How is your view different from

what is explained in this lesson?

- My understanding of history is about teaching in the past. And it’s also

a field of research. Studying history is not about reading, memorizing

important date/s or events, names of important persons but knowing

and analyzing the past to the things that happened in the past so we

cannot do that in the future and it will never repeat what's in the past.

This lesson made my eyes wide open and my ears to hear what's more

important in the past that can happen in the future, knowing more

about the causes and things and events.

2. As a student of history, what do you think will be your duties?

- My duties as a student of history are to tell them what lies and tell the

truth about what I study in history. It's better to share the knowledge I

know about the monarchs, heroes, saints, and nobilities. History has a

lot of beautiful, painful, and successful stories and it’s better to tell the

kids that history is a beautiful thing.

3. Why is there a need to understand and realize the meaning and

importance of our history?

- Because history is not just about history. History has its own history and

the important meaning of history is that inescapable, we study history

not to bring up the past but to be wise in the future. We need to know

that.

4. What role does history take in the study of Philippine society, culture,

and identity?

- The role of history in the Philippines is a field of research that narrates to

examine and analyze the sequence of events. Events that have

characterized us are the result of the processes and interactions within

the existing frameworks and systems of society. By understanding the

basic concepts and ideas as if something actually happened and is

true allows people to make better sense of the present.
