Scientists have identified new variants of the virus that causes COVID-19. This is not
uncommon as respiratory viruses can change often. The delta variant is now the
dominant strain of COVID-19 in Colorado. Studies have shown that vaccines remain
effective against this variant.
The best way to protect yourself and others from new versions of COVID-19 is to get
vaccinated, continue wearing a mask, social distancing and washing your hands
often.
