QEUSTIONS:
A: From your own perspective, what is the best and the worst form of government and why?
Answer: All form of government has their negatives sides but if I were to choose what is best form of
government still democracy is considered as the best form of government for me because of the following
reasons: In democracy, people have the right to choose their rulers. If rulers do not work well, people will not
elect him in the next election. Democracy has more freedom of speech than any other forms of government. We
can openly express our opinions in democracy. Democracy gives right to life. It means that states can’t punish
anyone with their choice. They must act according to the rule. The worst form of government for me is the
Oligarchy. Oligarchies are governments in which a collection of individuals rules over a nation. A specific set of
qualities, such as wealth, heredity, and race, are used to give a small group of people power. Oligarchies often
have authoritative rulers and an absence of democratic practices or individual rights.
Answer: Democratic socialism: A peaceful and democratic approach to achieving socialism. As an ideology,
democratic socialism also emphasizes a classless society in which all members jointly share the means and
output of production. But unlike communism, democratic socialism attempts to achieve its goals peacefully via
the democratic processes. Democratic socialists reject the need for immediate transition to socialism in favor of
a gradualist approach, achieved by working within a democratic government. Economic inequalities should be
remedied through a welfare state, a system that provides aid to the poor and help to the unemployed.
2. How have technology and agricultural modernization efforts contributed to promote economic development
in the Philippines? What forms of technology were/ are adopted and modernization efforts were/ are done? Cite
evidences for such strategies.
Answer: The Philippines government is working towards agricultural development by implementing the
Inclusive Partnerships for Agricultural Competitiveness (IPAC) Project. Funded partially by the World Bank,
the project works on expanding the capacity of small farmers to make a living. Through commercial agriculture
and improved infrastructure, small-holder farmers can increase their incomes and slowly become more self-
reliant. Developing irrigation systems in rural farming lands which is an important aspect of the project, makes
farming more efficient for the people of the Philippines. The project plays an important role in reducing poverty,
with 20 percent of the beneficiaries being poor farmers.
